How to calculate air flow

hello there ppl just a wee question about air flow i have a 60" 60" 140" cm tent i only have one plant in there but it is big i have a 4 inch tt fan and filter but i dont no how often to turn it of and on i have been keepin it on all the time when the light is one it seems to be putting the humidity down to 50...but do i need it on all the time!!!!! cheers for any replies....

If it is your only fan, I would suggest keeping it on all the time. You want a good fresh air exchange in your tent (unless your using CO2) in which then you will have the fan set to OFF when CO2 is being released. Without good air exchange and airflow, you may develop molds and other problems later.

I have 2 fans in my tent, with carbon scrubbers, one stays on 24/7 and then other comes on only with the lights.
 
I keep my fan running 24/7 for good air exchange.

My ambient humidity is normal around 50% with fan running and have noticed with lights off/fan off night time humidity can rise very high this may lead to mold problems/bud rot.
