I was thinking, next spring, I'd separate the light's driver and keep it outside the tent.

How should I keep it so the heat it creates doesn't burn/damage anything?

I mounted the driver on a board using bolts as spacers to keep it 1/2" off the wood

*said that wrong, i mean I used longer screws with nuts as spacers*

Attach it to a heat sink outside the tent, and then do as @Roy Growin said.

I'll do this in the spring time. I'll keep it in the tent for the winter, to keep the plants warm.
