What strain is it? 2 Northern Lights seeds, 1 Dominican bag seed strain, 3 American bag seeds
Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? What percentages? The NL is a hybrid, I believe the american strain is a sativa, and the dominican strain is indica.
Is it in Veg or Flower stage? veg
If in Veg... For how long? 19 days
Indoor or outdoor? Indoor
Soil or Hydro? Soil
If soil... what is in your mix? store bought, good mix of everything
If soil... What size pot? will be moving to 3 gallon pots close to flowering time
Size of light? 1 6500K 240 W HydroFarm CFL Light
Is it aircooled? does not get too hot, i have a tower oscillating fan in there anyway
Temp of Room/cab? 83-88 degrees
Any Pests? a few aphids from the soil i purchased but nothing more
How often are you watering? i use the weight of the pot and the finger in the soil method. maybe once every 4 days or so.
Type and strength of ferts used? so far only stuff with like .24 N, or something close to that. i mix it with rain water and use maybe a teaspoon to every half gallon of water.

Day 1 (06/10)
I have 18 seeds total. For the first round of germination I will be pulling 2 american seeds, 2 dominican seeds, and 4 NL seeds. the dominican seeds are at the top, the northern lights in the middle, and the american seeds at the bottom. I already know which american seed i'm pulling! that big brown red one! lol

I will be placing the american seeds at the top, the NL seeds in the middle, and the dominican seeds at the bottom.

my grow space is essentially 3 x 4. right now i have one light, the plan is to get another light later and veg as long as i can with all of them together, then pick the females and have them flowering under two 2600K 240W CFLs.

tonight i will be placing the seeds in cups of water to begin the long journey towards smoking them one day.

Day 2 (06/11)
All the seeds dropped to the bottom, so now i have them on the paper plates.

Day 4 (06/13)
My impatience got the better of me and i ended up not waiting on the roots to pop on all of the seeds.. I just planted them and turned the light on. out of the 4 NL seeds, only 2 had popped so far, I placed those in the center. 1 american seed popped, and neither of the dominican seeds popped. now all of them are in the dirt... lets see how long it takes before they make their way out to introduce themselves.

Day 6 (06/15)
YES!!! finally we got some action. I can see growth in 5 of the pots, the two NLs in the middle, the two americans and even 1 dominican barely. hard to see in the photo, but we are off!
2013-06-15_15-00-10_544.jpg

Day 7 (06/16)
the other two NL seeds never popped.. so i trashed em. so now we have 3 sets of 2, all popped and off and running. it's almost like the amazing race, and we have 3 couples. lol the americans at the top, the northern lights in the middle, and the dominicans at the bottom!

Start of Week 2 - Day 8 (06/17)
All 6 seedlings are well on their way to infancy. That big brown/red american seed has really shot up out of nowhere! It's at the top right hand corner. The NL seeds have already started on their first set of big leaves. The dominicans are still working on their Cotyledons.

Been watching a lot of Game Of Thrones so I decided to go ahead and name all 6 plants based on characters from the show.

Cersei (Dominican Strain) bottom left pot

Day 14 (06/24)
More pictures of the couples. all are doing well. i will continue to use these coco pots, but next time i plan on getting 3 gallon hexagon pots so that way i don't have to transfer twice. so far the pots are doing an excellent job of breaking down inside the soil, so my plants haven't been stressed at all. I'm running 18/6 right now. I've done a lot of research and to me it just makes sense to rest your plants. I have seen the arguments for running it 24 hours a day and in the end it doesn't look they get a substantial greater yield than someone who went 18/6. At any rate this light is working GREAT. i was able to add my flower bed in there to soak up some extra light, it really does a great job of filling the entire space with light. I will need some mylar, but for now i'm happy with this little setup. without further ado.. let's check on the couples.

John & Ygritte (the americans) looks like a rogue seed found it's way into this pot by accident. not sure if it's dominican or american or how in the hell it got in there... but i'll keep watching it for now.

Day 17 (06/27)
because of how I keep rotating the pots, the plants are starting to already bend constantly, making them more flexible. this is good. once i start LSTing it should make it a lot easier. here's some individual pics of everybody. I've only been giving them water. i mixed in some plant food, the ingredients show only .24N so i mix in maybe a teaspoon to every half gallon of water. when i do water, i make sure that the water comes out the bottom, and i've been using the pot weight test (no pun intended) to see when it's time.

Ygritte looks like a sativa. big bushy plant, i can already tell it's gonna be a handful if i don't control it's growth
CYMERA_20130627_182934.jpg

Drago is doing extremely well. he is turning into my favorite.
CYMERA_20130627_183115.jpg

But as of today... Dany is my favorite. i love how she's turning her leaves to maximize the light.
CYMERA_20130627_183044.jpg

Cersei is plodding along.. slowly but surely. this looks more indica than sativa.. but i could be wrong.
CYMERA_20130627_183137.jpg

John Snow is coming along nicely as well.
CYMERA_20130627_183216.jpg

Jaime is doing okay i guess... i hate his retarded looking leaves.
CYMERA_20130627_183154.jpg

also removed that rogue seed and placed it in it's own pot. I named him Joffrey and put it between Jaime & Cersei

Day 22 (July 2)
everybody is working on their 5 set leaves, very very happy with how things are going so far. 3 weeks in and i know the majority of the work is ahead of me.. but at least they are off to a good start.

Ygritte (american strain)

i dumped Jaime. his leaves were growing in really really weird, so i figured his genetics were poop. i have plenty of dominican seeds so i'll just start another for that pot

Day 25 (July 5)
Just finished LSTing last night. also went to the GLR light schedule. when i went to check on them this morning, i was pleasently surprised at how well they responded to it.
CYMERA_20130705_072717.jpg

that plant in the top right quadrant is just a flower that i used to keep the pot warm. lol

Drago was able to bend at a 90 degree angle.

subscribed. you want pH 5.8 for hydroponic and soiless (peat moss and coco coir) and pH 6.5 for soil.

here is a nutrient availability chart

pH_chart7.jpg

thanks for this!

here is the soil i'm using. It's called Tutucan.

once the plants get the second set of leaves, i drop one of these in the soil.

CYMERA_20130629_063600.jpg

when i turn the lights off at night, once the plants start working on their 5 leafs I mist them with about 10oz of water mixed with this. I put about a half a teaspoon:
CYMERA_20130706_004142.jpg

I went back to the store today and was able to locate some 3 gallon hexagon pots (they're actually green heh) so once the soil dry out in like a week or so i think i'm gonna go ahead and transplant the 5. I don't wanna jinx things because I could have a Elton John party before it's all said and done (all males) but i'm hoping with every ounce of my being that i get 4 females, and 1 male. The plan is to seperate Drago (if he turns out to be male) and let him pollinate every bag seed female that i grow going forward. This way I know the genetics will be a helluva lot better, regardless if it's the american seeds I have (mostly all from mexico so i'm guessing all sativa) as well as the dominican seeds that i have (85% sure they are all indicas) so i'll be able to improve my overall smoke, at no cost to me. i'm fascinated at the differences between the american plant, and the dominican plant.

two good examples are Ygritte and Cersei. Ygritte is the american and her leaves are HUUUUGE. that's her at the bottom.
CYMERA_20130705_230224.jpg

Cersei is the dominican and she's a lot smaller, and her leaves look more like the NL strain than the other bag seeds.
CYMERA_20130705_230207.jpg

i'm able to capture a lot of rain water, so I mix that with purified tap water (i have one of those gadget things you hook up to the sink) and that's pretty much all they get. I have a couple of half gallon bottles mixed down with 1 or 2 of those Nitrogen based plant stuff that i bought, and i think starting next week i'll start feeding the bigger plants this. right now i'm researching the tea stuff... pretty interesting.

If Cersei plays true to character, she'll kill all your other plants! Been watching, good luck! I will be starting my own soon, gear is inbound as we speak!

:Namaste:

a vid i made pre LST so you can get an idea of how tall they were before i did it. by my calculations all of the plants lost an inch of growth up to the 4th node, and now all of the tips are starting on the 7 leaf pairs pointed upwards. I'm having a tough time adjusting some of the pots to achieve maximum light exposure for the undergrowth nodes. the bigger leaves are just hogging up all the dang light. at any rate.. I present "Plant of Thorns" or PoT for short.

+reps on that edit sir! Not to mention the hexagonal pots.
:bravo: :bravo:

i meditate a lot, and i believe in sacred geometry. when i started researching for the grow and i knew i was gonna go with a CFL, i tried to figure the best shape to get as much light on as many plants as possible. by using these pots you teach the plants to bend by themselves simply by rotating the pots, so when it comes time to LST they will do so without any problems. i also thinks it helps when plants have a clear line of sight of one another, to talk plant shit and whatnot. lol

i play terence mckenna lectures during the night, and during the day i play classical music and jazz only. i 100% control the grow room and they pretty much live in a bubble, and they only see me so they have a pretty stable life. at around 7 in the morning i open my window and let the sun come in. i sit down, start meditating right in front of the plants until the sun hits the middle of my forehead like 10 or 15 minutes later.. when i do this i feel like i'm downloading growing information for my plants lol

yeah. i'm pretty weird/crazy/nerdy.

just guessing but...

indica?
CYMERA_20130706_093439.jpg

sativa?
CYMERA_20130706_093454.jpg

and i know for certain the NL seeds are hybrids.
CYMERA_20130706_093507.jpg

i put all of em' in jail. lol there's actually a method to my madness! i wanted to allow all of the leaves equal opportunity to get light. i do worry about the leaves that i have pinned down to the soil, but since they are only the 3 leaves and not the upper nodes i figured it'll be fine.
