YouTube - The Cult - Rain

These two plants were struggling two days ago. They were under less than optimal lighting and had some slight nute burn from not having the light to use up the nutes in the soil.
Apparently one night of thunderstorms that delivered three inches of rain followed by bright warm Sun in the morning is an outstanding cure! :grinjoint:

These are follow up shots 48 hrs after the storms rolled thru. They had some incredible effects not only on my plants but the landscape as well

What is that exotic flower you threw in there??

I happen to really like Columbine's, because the flowers are crazy looking.

And your plants look gorgeous!! +rep

Thanks Smokey!
That's a Passion Vine flower. They're very fragrant like a jasmine and they attract all sorts of critters from lizards to bumble bees like the one there looking for some fresh nectar.
After a good rain those things will pepper my backyard in purple.
I love Columbines too! They come in so many varieties and my Mom tries to grow all of them! :)

I really enjoyed the pics! You are doing a great job. I love how mother nature can cure all problems :) That is the coolest exotic! Always enjoy checking into to this thread when some bud porn is up hehe Keep it real!

:bravo: El Bandito!

I think those net pots helped you out alot after all that rain. ;)
Your garden ROCKS :theband:

Thanks for stopping by fellas!
I wish I could say I had the midas touch and had a hand in this but it is in fact Mother Nature working her wizardry! All I do is use organic nutes and this little box of miracle workers

I believe what happend here over the last three days was a number of variables lining up in perfect order to make my plants explode.
The nutes and beneficials were put in place and all it took was some perfect ph steady saturating rain in large quantities to unlock the magic. ;)

Bandit, if you don't mind, could you please describe what that is? Is it a natural CO2 generator of some sort?

Indeed it is a natural co2 generator!
I first saw these bags in DrDans grow room. I asked him about them and he said he liked them and they seem to work.
In the bag is a mycelial mass that weighs about 5 lbs. What a mycelial mass is I have no idea. I'm guessing some sort of fungus compost or something, idk. I need to read up on it.
It's supposed to last for about 6 months and should be used at a rate of 1 bag for every 4-6 plants or medium to small grow spaces.
I just came from your journal so I think it would be a good option for a room like yours if it does in fact work and you need co2.
The best deal I found on the web was from a vendor called Ecogrow. They had a Labor Day sale with these bags marked down $5 so I figured I would give them a try. The Labor Day sale is over but the bags are still on sale at only $1 off for a price of $29 + $10 UPS shipping. It looks like other online retailers are looking to get $39 per bag + shipping

Thanks Bandit. I will definitely be looking into this. I had planned on the DIY water, sugar and yeast CO2 generator, but I guess I will have to weigh the benefits of the 2. If it does last for 6 months, then that is the obvious choice. Does it seem moist? In other words, does it seem like it would add a lot of humidity?

Always cool to find new ways of doing things! Be sure to let us know how you like it!

Hey Bandit, how do you handle venting in your veg room now that you added the CO2?

Do you plan to use those CO2 bags in your flower room too, or just for veg?

I took the bag to my local shop for their analysis. :geek::hmmmm: Basicaly is what we have here is the exact same thing that is found in the co2 boost buckets. Only the bag version is $40 max compared to $115 for the bucket. :hmmmm:
 Since I already have a used co2 boost bucket along with two co2 boost special air pumps the bag will be used as a refill for the boost bucket and the air line will be hooked up to a small 6" fan to blow the co2 laden air across the canopy of the veg garden. I may also split the air line to run another injection directly over the clones in the ebb n flo on the table.

I've already started trying to make my own compost powered co2 but I may just go with these bags instead. The diy version has been messy & unsuccessful for me. If I like what I see i may try to get several bags in a bulk purchase and continue with my idea of a 5 gallon dual injection compost powered co2 generator for the bloom cab! ;)

I also have another idea about the odor bucket using a co2 boost air pump. Imagine a 1 or 5 gallon bucket of ona gel or liquid with a 3 watt air pump injecting the ona into the atmosphere? Quiet and low powered. Pretty nifty huh? :smokin:

In the near future I'll post a run down of how the air as far as injection and exaust is controlled for the entire room

So here's what I came up with for the co2. The bag was cut open and i put the mass down in the bucket and found out that it's a little bit too big for the bucket so I had to work with it to cram it all in there. The stuff is pretty slimy or greasy so I left the bag on the mass with just the top opened and rolled back. I then simply rammed the snorkel tube of the air pump into the mass and resealed the lid.
Then I cut an air line to fit from the pump to the fan and that was it!
I do have a co2 test kit so in a few days I'll take some reading to see what I have!

A note on these air pumps is that you can buy the pump by itself and not have to buy the whole co2 boost bucket. I found this pump used on ebay for $4 sometime back but you can buy them new for $20-$30

Guess that would be considered nature's version of a flush! ;)
