Shiny Beetle the size of a LadyBug anyone familiar with these?

Shiny Beetle the size of a LadyBug, it looks like they may eat leaves, anyone familiar with these? About as long as a ladybug, not as wide. thank you!!

Yes. Its a Japanese beetle. They lay there eggs in the ground. They eat foliage. Nasty gross things having sex all the time while eating leaves. Seen them demolish grape leaves. Hard to get rid of. You can put grub killer on the ground. They make stuff to attract them and catch them. Just put it away from your plants or you attack them to your plants.

The Japanese beetle is a highly destructive plant pest that can be very difficult and expensive to control. Feeding on grass roots, Japanese beetle grubs damage lawns, golf courses, and pastures. Japanese beetle adults attack the foliage, flowers, or fruits of more than 300 different ornamental and agricultural plants.

They took a liking to one of my fruit trees and defoliated it in 3 days - and it was a mature semi-drawf.

LOL No 4" Grasshoppers seen yet, do you see these monster HawkMoths?, I do, every night at sunset, the bats help with moth killing, they emerge at the same time as the moths (when the Barn owl is not present)look on the streetlight
