Should it look like this

Dre tries to grow

Well-Known Member
Good day, Dre here

I currently started a new grow as the last one messed up

Its two months old

Its from a seed which i had got from a bag i had bought, which is claimed to have been northern lights.

I have a Chinese blurple light and at this moment both switches are on. Its a 600watt led with an actual of 108watts and two 40watt 5500k cfl lights

In a 11litre fabric pot. with a mix of peat moss, blood and bone meal and perlite

Between 19 to 24 degrees Celsius average

RH between 50% amd 70%

Fed only water phd to 6 (tap water left for 24 hours ppm naturally reads 115 out the tap)

Abt 2 weeks ago i gave abt 250ml water with 10ml worm casting which is in liquid form) ph 5.9

Today i gave her first mix of general hydroponics trio... 3.5litre 2ml micro 4ml bloom, no idea on the ratio that calmag should be used as mine is a calmag solid not liquid (solid being that it looks like rice pebbles) so i put 1 tablespoon in that mix and ph to 5.8

Oh and for some reason my medium takes abt a week to get dryish (still moist abt a full finger deep)

My question is does look ok for 2 months and what can i do to realy get this baby going

Hiya @Dre tries to grow she looks a little small for 2 months, but healthy looking! Did you have the setup like that the whole time as far as height of light off the plant?

Hi there mate,

they look okay

I would pull that light down a few inches though mate. You should get 20 percent run off when feeding were does your run of go. I can’t see any trays under the pots.

also my plants took 5 to 7 days before I feed. As they get bigger they drink more frequently. Mine is every 3 days now though.

your plants look slightly overwatered aswel. Check the weight of the pot when dry, that will give you a indication when to feed.

I used general hydroponics the same nutrients as you. I follow the table on the back of the bottle. At quarter strength then gradually work your way up. because auto’s don’t like a overload of nutrients.
(Floramicro)

(FloraGro) (you didn’t use this one) I would say this might have something to do with growth) try use this.

(Florabloom)

but I’m no expert either. Also 19 Celsius is to cold .

but they are very green and mean anyways there doing fine. Your doing a good job.

peace and love

Could it be i need more lights?
Always need more lights! ;) Just kidding for just that little plant you probably have enough, but it isn't close enough. I agree with @Leeroy48 it should come down a ways. You could probably run that light a foot off your girl and get way more intensity. I doubt it runs hot but just make sure your hand isn't too warm when you hold it under the light at the distance the top of your plant is from it.

If that plant is two months old, it's really, really behind the curve. That looks more like 2 weeks or just over in size.

Light too far away, and not enough of it.

@Leeroy48 so when i feed i use a bucket and grill and let it run off in the bucket, i water super slow in levels and then the next day i put it on its normal raised plate abt 3cm off the floor.. Its an 11litre fabric pot so i put a 3.5 litre feed..

What kind of mix of general hydroponics should i be using

So i have raised the plant closer to the light, any ideas on what i should look out for to c if its the light sweet spot... Do i need to put it closer

And lastly i cant find anything on calmag ratio.... When you add calmag to tap water how much do u want to add in terms of ppm (all the videos i have seen or info is on calmag in a ratio form and not in a solid pic attached)

You said you added a tablespoon of that peeble calmag. A tablespoon of anything is overkill imo especially when you don’t know the proper ratio. Please post some pics under white lights. I think it’s stunted because it’s overfed.

Respectfully, Fox Farms Big Bloom runs two tablespoons per gallon for soil application in veg, one in bloom and I run a tablespoon of vinegar and a tablespoon of cal/mag in every jug of water I serve up so I don't know that that statement is very accurate. Also I often find I need more or less of a "suggested usage". If I give the suggested FF Grow Big dose to one of the strains I grow in bloom I get terrible clawing, and I definitely need the extra cal mag, 1-1.5tsp was not cutting it.

and i give a tbsp of molasses to my gals regularly but a chemical salt is way stronger than watered down stuff. Also it’s just one tiny plant.

I do less molasses and I skip it alot because its such a mess! I've been using GH koolbloom or some such...thats a quarter tsp lol :D

I'm just saying that statement was pretty broad, I wouldn't want someone new worrying (which they do) they were giving too much even if it called for that much is all.

She is tiny I'll give you that! She looks tough though you're gonna be surprised real quick.

the problem here is he works blind. There are no directions on how to use it. If it calls for a tbsp sure give it a tbsp but chemical salts rarely do. Like jacks call for what 3,2,1. 5 grams of salt per gallon and thats a full feeding regimen. This is just calmag and tbh we don’t really know what it is so i would never use it a tbsp hahah

@farside05 to the white courtesy phone, please. :cheesygrinsmiley:

At least the powdered/granular Cal-Mag product I use (Greenway Biotech from the Zon) is supposed to be dissolved into a gallon of water and then dosed from there. After reconstituting it ends up being the same as Botanicares Cal-Mag+.

Wassup gents...... Yeah im really working blind with the granular calmag, @Pbass i havent top dressed with it but it does mix well with water, so i let it mix for 2hours before adding the flora nutrients... One thing other people pointed out and if not mistaken it could have been you @Pbass that recommended puting the lights closer and perhaps more...

I also got molases will it be a good time to start with it

So where i am from in South Africa we recently legalized home use, and with that being said the market of weed equipment still abit of an issue either being to far, pricey or non existing so i will improvise in adding an additional 200watt led 5500k will that work to boost its intensity

To be clear, the product I use does not get dissolved directly into the gallon of feed. I buy a pre-measured package of powder that gets dissolved into 1 gallon of water, to make 1 gallon of Cal-Mag solution. From there I dose between 1 to 5ml of that liquid into my gallon of feed, depending on the age of the plant. 5ml of my Cal-Mag solution increases ppm by 162.
