Hi im new here i have a 36x20x62 grow tent should i purchase a 900 w led or a 1200 w led need help in choosing between the two

Hi, Welcome, I'd pick the one with the "footprint" that matches the tent size.

Since you joined you can check some sponsors out selling lighting @SmokeSara has a chart to fix you up on size , but remember to see what the amp draw is Times the voltage for the true wattage.
Watts mean nothing these days
As mentioned, get the one that has a footprint that is bigger than yer tent by a bit
Real watts are what it pulls at the wall, not what they call the what's in the description of the led
Name brands are better than off brands

For your space, you will need around 160~205w true wattage light, whose coverage better be 2x4. Hope this is helpful.
