Oh man, I am very envious of your work. This might be the reason I give DWC a try next grow
Thank you! DWC is awesome. You really need to have everything optimized though, in order to reap the benefits. This means you'll definitely need to upgrade from the cfls, and I would recommend co2 and other stuff down the line. The only downside to DWC is that if you make a mistake you'll see it right away, soil and coco are more forgiving. I actually prefer this because you can identify and fix problems much faster. That being said, it can be a disaster if you dont have a complete understanding of how to provide everything the plant needs. Once you feel comfortable in soil/coco, make the switch to full hydro and you won't go back.
This is my first hydro grow so I am excited to test the smell and flavor vs my soil and coco grows since that is what soil purists claim is lacking in hydro.

but the ph varied a lot in 24h, you whenever you set it or use some product that keeps it stable for longer?
It takes about 9-9.5 gallons to fill her up. When I make the batch I make an extra gallon. After 24 hours I add the extra 1 gallon. Every 24 hrs after that I add 1 gallon of pure ro water. My pH goes from 6.3 to 5.7 in about 5 days. I use pH up to bring it back up to 6.3 and to drops back down to around 5.8 by the time I change the res. I go 7.5 days between changings.

Bear in mind these numbers are for the current week. My pH range was different in veg and the amount of water I have to add has gradually increased throughout the grow. For example, week 1 of flowering, I only had to add 1 gallon.

9/30/19 11:30 pm Day 129 (61F)
temp 73 rh 52% ec 0.2 ph 6.1 co2 750
night temp 59 rh 41% water temp 63

Trich Report! After some careful examination she has about 45% clear, 50% cloudy, 5% amber trichomes. I'm going for 10% clear, 80% cloudy and 10% amber. Plan to harvest in 2-3 days. I don't mind being a hint on the early side, because the trichs will continue to ripen somewhat after harvest.

I have changed out the res to plain water with just a smidge of micro nutes and dry koolbloom. All the measureables have been lowered as much as possible to both accelerate the ripening process and also bring out any colors that may be present in the genetics. This includes day/night temp, water temp, and day and night humidity. My co2 has been shut off for a week now but ambient still stays around 750. Co2 isn't harmful at this point, just unnecessary.

Harvest Day! 168 colas in total, around 80 small, 60 medium and 30 large ones. Hoping to average 4g a piece once dry, which would be 1.5 lbs!
I trimmed the fan leaves and hung the branches with clothespins. Once dry, I'll go back and trim up the buds and jar them. Butter and rosin coming soon!

Nice job. Compliments to your study , perseverance , and good luck.

Sorry for the late replies, I took quite a hiatus from the forums but back now.

Soooooo, @TysonOG ... what was your final trimmed bud yield off this bad girl, Francesca?

I ended up with 15oz 7g once dried, of which I'd say 13oz was grade A, the rest grade B. I also got about 2.5oz of trim which had to be at least 10% thc because I made brownies expecting like 5% thc from the trim and let's just say I was way off haha.
I don't have any mother plants at the moment, but maybe down the road, unfortunately Mimosa will not be one. I have a ton of reg seeds of hers and still think she is a great strain to cut your teeth on but I won't be continuing with it in the near future.

Thank you very much, I encourage everyone to document their grow, as much as possible. It has become an invaluable resource for me to reference back to.

Nice haul Tyson! Enjoy!

This was all enjoyed in 2019, very strong high, I thought the smell and taste were lacking so that is what I'm focusing on, on my new grow. My patients said the opposite they loved the earthy flavor of the Mimosa, but I was not impressed.

Be sure to check out my new journal, the current Gorrila Glue, is going to be better than the mimosa for sure, and she's already 14 days into flowering!

Headed over there now Tyson.
I will try GG Auto after my present grow.

Seems to be back to her old self, putting on some nice leaf mass. Lots of secondary roots are coming out of the pot. I changed out the res but kept the nutes about the same, so per gallon, 1ml armor si, 2.5ml calmag, 3.75ml micro, 5ml grow, 1.25ml bloom, 2ml hydroguard. I also cleaned out the inline filter and took a pic to show the buildup.

Hiya Tyson, sorry for the backpost. I'm just taking my time, reading through your great thread. Man, the vinegar... had something similar happen to me couple days ago. I autoclaved a bunch of perlite before using and it destabilized it chemically. For 18 hrs was fine but then suddenly a 5.8 solution became 3.4 and dropping! Could not believe it. Glad only one was in perlite, the rest in hydroton (that I also sterilized but no ill effect) Wanted to ask here, is that filter from your chiller? Hope yer still growin' and tokin'. Cheers.

6/22/19 1:00 am Day 31
temp 80 rh 72% ec 1.4 ph 5.8 co2 1150

I have added my co2 system, set at 1150ppm. You can see Audrey Hepburn watches over my grow, teaching my girls how to sparkle lol. I tried using a timer for my co2 years ago but I just felt it was very difficult to get it precise and I was wasting co2. The Titan Atlas 9 controller is awesome because it has fuzzy logic onboard which saves me a ton of co2. I tried running it in "ppm up" mode, which works like a standard controller in that once your co2 falls below a certain level it kicks on. The issue is that the co2 levels rise even after the co2 shuts off, so you constantly yo-yo around your target. With fuzzy logic, the computer records the max and min and adjusts your co2 duration according. What it does is push the co2 out in 1 second spurts, normally 3-4 back to back depending on your deadband. This allows you to keep a much stricter range. I set it at 1150 with a deadband of 50 and it kicks on at 1100 and normally maxes around 1200. That's a pretty tight range. Note the fuzzy logic is only for tanks, co2 generators cannot short-cycle. The co2 levels are high in the picture because I was working in/around the tent for 30 min.
I'm getting close to topping. Shes 5.5" now and I want the cut to be at 6-8". Normally I top to the 4th node and remove the 1st node, leaving 6 shoots. This time, I'm basing it on height because I want the main stem to be a bit more of a strong base and provide a couple extra shoots. The lower shoots should have no problem reaching the scrog. My scrog is going to be set at 10" from the net pot but we're still weeks away from that.

Breakfast at Tiffany's! Perfect.

Hey ReservoirDog! The metal screen is from an inline filter I put on the hose coming from the chiller. I don't use it anymore as I've gotten better at keeping a sterile res. Not growing at the moment but only a brief respite. I harvested over 8 lbs in the last year so I needed a break haha.

well done, son! Thanks for the reply. Hope to see you soon. I'm taking a couple days off - my journal, not my grow it just got started - small home accident rung my bell, doc says I'll live, but I was stumbling around making things worse and just writing this makes my head hurt so I'm on a very short forced sabbatical from, well, thinking and moving about. Better stop now before someone catches me! Hope you don't mind if I tag you here any day now when I get started up on the journal again, could use your acumen and attention to detail. Be well, Cheers.

Feel free! I don't check in here as often as I used to, but still somewhat regularly. If I see it, I'll definitely reply.
