The northern is starting to grow pretty well. Res change is in progress on this fine Sunday. Watching a little bill ward on YouTube, he’s sponsored by @Mars Hydro. He’s starting his first dwc, but he hasn’t got them in buckets yet. He’s got them in solo cups, I am patiently awaiting so see how he transplants from solo with whatever medium he’s got in there to the buckets, though I suppose it’s not like you are running the risk of clogging a pump, I don’t suppose a little perlite or something would hurt

The northern is about ready to train I believe. I’m at 5-6 nodes. Will try to start today if it isn’t super busy

Training day 1 for the northerns. I’ve started to add frozen bottles to the chiller res. I spotted a little bit of funk on the widow, I didn’t catch that her roots had dropped so I think it not having an air gap for a day added a bit of slime on the roots. I dumped h202 3% into her res at change. The northern had a little dark spot in her root mass and I dropped some in there as well. No need to panick, I expected a little, I left the net pot half off the widow for some hours forgetting it.. and the slab is hot. Summer is kicking, but we’re in for the long haul.

Thanks @Bill284! Happy Friday good sir. We’re making it over here. Today is res change with nutes #2 for the northern lights. She’s showing some spots in her newer leaves, and I’m working out the kinks for the humidifier…
But we’re moving. I’m going to up the dose of everything really. She got a light splash of nutes thus far but the northerns can take some nitrogen so we’re about to have some fun.

Yeah Friday she got a larger dose. Last week she got 6ml of calmag total. This week she got 12ml of calmag. Only on ro water and yeah it goes in first

Yeah I was starting her slow on nutrients. Think that’s when that originated. Then I remembered she’s a northern and I juiced her up
12ml cal mag
2ml micro
12ml gro
5 ml bloom.
These numbers are in total* not per gallon. If you want per gallon divide by 3. I hate math haha

Training continues. I just tucked all the fan leaves that are covering any nodes. Almost can’t see the damaged stuff

Cinched down the northern a bit this morning. The widow isn’t looking the best but it’s been a long week already.. doing my best to keep the water temps good.

I’ve got the net in just checking it out really. This is not the desired height, this is quite low. I’m not sure where I’m going to end up putting it maybe a foot above the net pot lids. Got a little bit of research to do but I did hear “ you want to put the pants in the net, not the net on top of the plants” when scrogging

Thanks bill you too buddy! Man, funny enough I watch bill ward on The tube, he’s a Canadian as well as a soil grower. He made his first dwc this year and didn’t do much research. He started his plants, not much unlike you in solo cups with perlite and I’m not sure what other medium.. anyways this week he went to transplant into the buckets. Odd sight that was as you can imagine. I suspect he will get mold as the soil will retain moisture. Anywho thought it was a coincidence

Think I dropped a little water on some leaves but no matter. Training continues on northern. I’ve got maybe 4 lashes down. The main stem is getting horizontal albeit, and to me she is looking fantastic. I wish I would have done this more last go. Anyway it’s been a fun subject to reasearch, scrog and such. I’ve found the likes of folks, like “Tourette grower” and Northern Scrogger.

I do wonder how this will play out though with scrog if the northern vegs for 2 months THEN stretches, but we shall see.
