Yo yo yo, auto Northern Light, small buds? Long left?

This is her now six days later , I think she has a good while to go as well , a lot longer than the breeder says (9 weeks) she is now 9 weeks and a few days old

Looking good I'd agree that they still have a bit to go!

I had 4 Northern Lights autos recently. 2 of them went for 12-13 weeks and the other 2 went for 14 weeks (from seed in soil, they probably used 2-3 days to break soil). I did not chop them too late, as in they didn't have too much amber, maybe 5%-10%.

Yeah I think there more Sativa dominant so will probably take longer to ripen but hopefully I get a nice yield, this is the most exciting and anxious part patiently waiting!! Would love to see some pics man if you have any

All I can say is wow that second harvest was some beast nugz - I fecking hope mine pack on - I think there 10 weeks tomorrow

I just watered today actually an took some pics so this is her like an hour ago - she was doing fine until like last week needed to cal mag thought there was enough in my water and then she started getting deficient - so on the last watering I add cal mag and again today but she keeps pushing on - so don’t mind the yellow leaves haha

Thanks! I think you're set for at least as good a harvest in a little while - the plants have a lot of colas and those in the last pics looks fat and frosty already.

According to my notes those last two Northern Lights gave me 85g and 92g in the jars, so 177g or 6.24oz for both of them. It's my best pair until now. But hey, some people are pulling double that from their autos, so there's lots of room to improve.

Yeah I know man I’ve seen a guy pull over 10 off one plant, he keeps it real simple as well. Well I’m on week ten was aiming at 11 when I first started haha. You still smashed it tho man the plants you had were not the biggest neither - mine is an xxl variety - it would of been well over three feet if I didn’t Lst and super crop - so I’m hoping it shows in the yield - I want to let it ripen to her max as well so I don’t care how long it takes - I’m thinking to also harvest in two parts as there is loads of fat buds underneathe the top colas - also you was using a 2000 mars hydro mine is only the 600 - after my next run which I’ve got a seed ready og kush I’m going to upgrade the light to 1000 - too hot at the moment where I am for an even bigger light

you reckon she has long left lads? She is definitely getting there, leaves are yellowing and shit. I’m not using a microscope wanted to do it the old fashioned way lol

Nice! Not long now I'd say, with almost all cloudy trichs from what i can see. A week more wouldn't hurt, I think... I would've wanted to see a little amber if they were mine, but that's just down to taste. I bet you'll have some stellar smoke there shortly!

Hey man thanks for the reply, I’m not really good with the trichs and stuff - how are you looking at them? I really like the heavy stone so I want her to go all the way

I take photos of the buds, as close up as I can, and study them. I also have a couple of loupes, but nothing really good enough. I'm planning to pick up one of those cheap and cheerful 60 x magnification pocket microscopes.

I like a little for the body too, or a good balanced mind/body mix, so I go for a good range of trichome colours. I find that when the amber starts on the sugar leaves, there are usually no more clear trichs and for me the chop window starts there. It's advised by the veterans to wait for a little amber to show on the calyxes, but they have to go even longer for that (how long can an auto go, and all that...). Sometimes I just have to chop when there's autumn colour on the lower and some mid leaves (at that time there's always some amber on the sugar leaves), not risking drying or rot.

Looking great. Will keep you going a while. I've only ever done it on trichs using a pocket microscope or one that attaches to my phone camera. My previous grows I went with just a little amber as I used to love a bit of a racy high. Not so much right now though. If you want that couchlock I'd go another week and see what they look like then.

Thanks for the advice guys, I cut the Nutes down a little this weeks so I’m going to halve it for this next week, it’s been a light feeder as when I went to 3.5ml per litre I got slight Nute burn , it’s now at 2.5. Probably should if tapered off earlier but thought there was a while left lol or Do you think I should run straight water now ? Thanks lads

You are going to get a few members saying they don't flush and they all are great growers and I would trust them so if you want to half it that should be fine or taper off

Well back like 8-9 years ago when I was growing we used to just taper off and use really really light feed for last week and we called it “fake molasses week” haha and the bud I remember was pretty dam good for back then

I’m also growing in peat based soil and I read on Ed ros today that you should just use plain water for last 3-4 days in this mix
