Here we go again folks. Firstly I have to give a big thanks to @ViparSpectra for the opportunity. They have generously provided the fantastic XS2000 for me to run on this grow.

So this time I'll be giving coco coir a go. I recently bought an Autopot kit and thought it would be a great time to try coco. I'd previously been put off because of the hassle of watering multiple times a day and shifting all the run off. Once they're established in the Autopot system I should just have to keep the reservoir in check.

Light - ViparSpectra XS2000
Tent - 50x90x160cm
Extraction - AC Infinity Cloudline S4 extraction fan
Filter 4" carbon filter
Air movement - Various USB fans Inc AC Infinity 120mm case fans
Substrate - Ecothrive coco lite
Containers - 15L Autopots
Nutrients - Shogun Fertilisers
Seeds - White Widow X Northern Lights (@Weed Seeds Express), Blue Cheese & Mac N Cheese (Original Big Buddha Family Farms).
I'm actually starting these off under the ViparSpectra XS1000. Hopefully they'll forgive me. Lol. I thought it's actually a great way to show off another VS light and how these smaller lights can be so useful to have. For most of us we're having to watch our energy consumption. Which is something we should try to do anyway, but it's kinda been forced on us now. To me it doesn't make sense to use the XS2000 to start off a few seedlings. The lower powered XS1000 is more than capable and will be more economical to get things started. As soon as they get their little feet planted they'll get the might of the bigger light.
Germination
So, my last few grows I've germinated by placing seeds direct into the substrate in a small cup. This has been with soil, pure perlite and now coco. All with great success. I used to soak seeds in shot glasses and then plant them once they'd germinated but I don't think I'll go back to that. I encourage you all to germinate your seeds in whichever way works for you, but for me this is the easiest way.
I prepped three solo cups with coco and watered thoroughly with Shogun Start & Shogun Katana Roots at a pH of 5.8. I also added a little Orca. Dropped the seeds on Thursday evening and today we have 2 babies and the 3rd making her way up.
