Aeration for soil plants

New grower here, learning as i go. Right now i have four soil plants that will soon need transplanted into bigger pots. I have planters i initially intended for hydro growth but that has failed so far so i was wondering...would aeration from below via water in bottom of 5g bucket and an airstone be beneficial or harmful to soil plants?

Seems like a waste of electricity to me. Plants enjoy plenty of oxygen though. This could be achieved by adding plenty of perlite, and/or using smartpots or airpots. I personally use superoots airpots and the plants get plenty of oxygen. Also you can get away with using much smaller plants do to air pruning.
