A tip led to the recent seizure of a dozen marijuana plants growing at a Hiwassee home, according to a search warrant on file with Pulaski County Circuit Court.

An affidavit filed with the warrant states that a citizen contacted Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force members in August to report seeing marijuana plants growing at a residence on Bethel Church Road.

When officers went to check on the situation, plants police believe to be marijuana could be seen growing on a screened in porch and in a garden spot on the property, according to the affidavit. It indicates the observations were made from the driveway of the residence.

An inventory of items seized included nine "green plants" from the house and three "green plants" from the garden. Authorities also seized two containers of "plant material," two smoking devices, a plastic bag with plant leaves and a container with a "tar substance" inside.

The address of the home is not being released because it is unclear whether anyone has been charged in connection with the case.
