Canadian Broken-Stemmed Bag Seed Grow 2018-19

Hi All,

Decided to start a grow journal, largely in part to gain any and all assistance, but also to look back on for posterity's sake. The following are several details about the grow thus far:
-Not sure of the strain, they were from a bag six or seven years ago, received as a gift from my brother. The weed was fire, even though it was seeded.
-After germinating two seeds with the damp paper towel/sandwich bag method, they were placed in large cups from a fast-food restaurant and both broke soil on October 13, 2018, which is coincidentally my mum's birthday.
-Soil is organic and contains two cups of ground fan leaves from my last grow, two ground brown egg shells, two shredded banana peels and two cups of sawdust from untreated lumber. These were all just guestimates and I had no real idea how the plants would react.
-The plants were grown in the fast-food cups for three weeks using one, generic "300W" LED grow light, after which they were transferred to a large tub and a second "300W" LED grow light was added.
-As for water, the plants have been given nothing but RO, with no nutrients ever added.
-One day after they were transferred to the tub, both plants were topped.
-Holes were drilled all around the rim of the tub to use as LST anchor points.
-Honestly, minimal care has really gone into this grow and this plant has mostly done it's own thing. The one downside has been the criminally low relative-humidity in the room, which has hovered around 10% for much of the grow. These western Canadian winters are brutally dry and this grow is also by a window which is open at least a crack, all of the time.
-The plants were flipped to 12/12 on January 14, 2019 and have been coming along nicely.

That is the gist of it for now, thanks for viewing!

Cool little grow you have going. Are you gonna try and make it without nutes the entire grow or are you planning on giving them anything?
Thx! I haven't really spent a lot on this grow and don't plan on spending more lol. If I need it later down the line and it is organic, cheap and readily available I will be all for it.

Baby buds at three weeks since light flip. Ghetto grow 2018-19, only feeding 600ml of RO water every day in addition to rap and classical music.

Swapped out the two "300W" LEDS for a 600W MH/HPS light,w/ dimmable ballast. The HPS light is dimmed to 50% for now, 18" above the canopy.

Humidity is still low, but am really just wanting to finish up this grow and get a few much-needed upgrades for the next go-round. Next time I will be growing the legal limit of 4; topping twice, vegging at least 2.5 months and using the scrog method.

Lost the battery for my digital cam, so it's potato cell pics until I locate that battery. Plants are still drinking 600ml of RO a day, although I may soon up it to 900ml. There's also a pic in there with an Angus Young drawing I did recently, for those about to rock, I salute you!

26 days since flip, frosting up a bit more every day. Doing a lot of research for my next grow, can't wait!

Day 30 since light flip, pistils are still white to the tips, buds are stacking, things cruising along nicely aside from the low RH. Contemplating a simple flood and drain set-up for my next grow. Currently researching organic nutrients for hydroponics, cheers to all!
