Coco pot size.

Hey everyone!
I have a question for the coco specialists.
What's better, if I want to veg 2 weeks and then switch to flower, 3 gal pots or 5 gal pots?

coco performs best in a cloth pot. if going cloth, a 3 gal would work fine on a 2wk veg plan. still doable in hard sides, but easy in cloth.

Yeah, I am doing a cloth pot.
My bad, I didn't specify.
So I would probably want them to finish around 5ft with the pot.
Do you guys think that 3 gal would be enough?
I am leaning towards the 5 gal, also because I would have to water less frequently...

if you want that size a 5 gal would be easier. in the end the feeding becomes daily / multiple times in coco anyway, and i'm not sure a 2wk veg is gonna make a plant that size.

If you got space for a 5' photo plant [don't forget to factor in stretch] then yes, 5 gal pot - but I'd give it a bit longer than 2 week veg for the roots to fill the pot before you flip, 4-6 weeks maybe
If you were doing autos, 3 gal would be more appropriate

BTW the watering frequency does not necessarily go down in bigger pots of coco, because you will have more rampant roots sucking up goodies faster - a drip system saves a lot of work

@bluter

Okay, I understand.
How many plants in 5 gal would you guys recommend to put under a gavita pro 1700le LED?

I think you guys don't understand me...
I am not trying to grow 5 ft in 2 weeks...
Anyways, I got my answer thanks everyone.

If you’re vegging for 2 weeks than a 3 gallon is a no brainer

this right here.

i'd really have to see the light. gavita has a solid name, but mostly in cmh. are you in europe @kosio bosio ? gavita is bigger there.

a quick look shows it's capable of a 4x4 to 5x5. it pulls 645w, for comparison i run 600w of led cob in a 4x4. so at the outside, it's how many 5 gal plants you can fit in a 5x5.

when you think of a light, it's best to think in terms of canopy, not number of plants. a single plant decently trained and scrogged out can fill a 5x5.

I don't want to veg them too long, that's why I think to put more plants under a lamp.
I am an european in the USA.
Gavita is similar to LUX.

p.s and again...I am not trying to veg 5 ft in 2 weeks...that's ridiculous...

If u grow clones 5ft in 2 weeks plus flower stretch might be doable i used to buy amnesia haze clones my plants would end up 7ft in 3 weeks veg plus flower stretch using canna nutes and canna pro plus coco 5gal fabric pots and 600w hps i never used to ph and fed every 3 days but ive found out if i mix all nutes accept canazyme my ph ends up about 6.3 the haze did not mind that ph then i started to use just a b and boost and had problems thats when i come here for advise heres my plants with 3 weeks of veg and fed every 3 days they was about 7ft i feed daily now but dont really see much difference

I am starting from a clone, yes.
I am trying to do something similar, just I am going to change the lamps to LED and will also do some small adjustments.
