Did i screw up?

i got a seed to germ, and i planted it in a smaller pot with backyard dirt. i have about a half inch sprout, but the end seemed to turn a weird dark tan color, and it seems to not be growing, did i kill it or sometihng?

i dont even have leaves yet, its only about a half inch tall or so, and no pics, no camera ha

Unfortunately, it's against federal law to discuss the specifics of seed sales on any site...so, I'd actually suggest using Google to find out more information about that stuff.
