Droughting and its medicinal effects in cannabis

She's on a roll so we had to start her!

EVA is a sativa dominant @Weed Seeds Express BIG JACK WIDOW autoflower and stands at a mere 24 inches tall.

Today marks 55 days for her above ground.

This will be a two set entry, first will be plant shots and the next grouping will gear towards her trichomes

So on today's morning check I found my Kosher Kush pretty thirsty. I haven't gone and done the new math yet of figuring what the difference between 50 degrees and 50 % is in my head but when I saw my Kosher kush this stressed I gave up and watered her.

Thanks, i think my visualizations of leaf deflection might be pretty much the same as if I actually understood the process the first times. I took a 90 degree plane looking at the relative leaf angle and to make it easy, cut that in half to get 45(close to 50) degrees. Well that's ~50% when I think of it.

That last pis really captures the wilt but also shows the fortitude of the buds and how the plant redirects its focus to the flower. Thank you Stone!

Showing no signs of deviation from a watering state at this early juncture. There are no leaf wilts, color changes or negative affects to note. Apparent increase in sugar as the reflection from the flash is now causing a slight blur in these magnified shots.

You can clearly see how the trichomes are already beginning to move from the leaves to the buds as we have seen in the past and know to be a sign that the droughting is doing its thing! In addition, the bulbous heads of the trichomes are swelling.

Turgid as can be these leaves are, just her branches are getting heavy and she is spreading. Pot is not completely dry yet but she has dried out about 1/4 inch from the sides of her 3gl home

Uh... These things are merely a sign that flowering is progressing, as per usual. (I am assuming you're not actually implying that the trichomes on the leaves are physically moving, lol, but that you're now seeing them appear on the flowers, too.)

No not physically moving, I have personally seen when I drought and take trichome shots every day that the leaves, and let me rephrase, lose trichomes while the buds increase in trichomes. You can see the trichomes get squiggly and thin on the leaves while the flowers stack them on.

Yes, a natural occurrence this late in flower. My comparative results however vs plants droughted vs not, this increase/decrease seems to happen much faster and with greater mass built up on the flower.

It is really hard to push droughting and that's why I don't I just put info out there. It's the end product, that medicinal smoke, that ultimately proves this science works. I try my best to highlight the areas in this stress technique that help suggest its veracity and worth. This is unfortunately the best I can do since I can't send my cured flowers for everyone to try.

I don't use scientific terms often as they tend to scare people off so I want everyone to consider, when reading my posts, that a comment such as "they move" should not be interpreted as they slink over (like I assume a caterpillar would?) from the leaves to the buds. It would be cool to watch though if they did

Preface to Eva Drought Day 4

I take care of my plants and don't want them hurt in anyway. I drought with reason and with their best interests at heart. I kind of get idk, upset I guess, sometimes on this thread.

A lot of people,
A. Discredit me for my amount of time growing
B. Think I'm crazy to think droughting works at all and
C. Don't take me seriously because I don't use the science terminologies too often and I don't half the answers we ALL are searching for

But I wanted to voice that I WOULD NOT take on another thread if I didn't think it was beneficial to others. I have enough going on in my life and in my grows that to just throw up and maintain a thread as cumbersome and requiring of my attention as that one, for no good reason is asinine.

I am trying to help make a difference in the way you all see this droughting experience. I do this not for personal gains but for your health. For your friends and your family's health. For medicine. For the Cannabis growing culture worldwide.

Take it or leave it. Believe it or don't. Try it or forget about it. Fault me or not, for my lack of educational background on the topic. Don't fault me though for trying to enlighten the masses and for taking my own time to try to make someone else's day better.

I wanted this to be an open forum for many reasons, mainly because I would like all that wish to utilize it, to be able to-regardless of growing history, intelligence, knowledge on this topic or growing in general, etc etc.

You don't need to come over here with a notepad filled with fancy jargon and big words you pulled off of a thesis just to try to sound smart or keep up with the Jones' who have that shit oozing off their keyboards with every stroke. Just come over and sit down, smoke, hang out and really look and listen to those who support this theory. This technique. This "experiment".

With all that said, I digress. Back to Eva.

Another day without a wilt. Another day without a yellowing leaf. Another day with just a little water left in that soil.

Her pot is super light but still not quite all the way dry. Soil has receded about a half an inch now from the sides of the pot.

She is leaning heavily on several branches with the onset of extra weight finishing paired with her top heaviness and no weight in the pot.

Be sure your girls are supported when droughting, they will topple over from being top heavy if you are not careful!

I appreciate you RM. I have always been a teacher or a leader in school or in sports. It is innate and my desire to be part of something bigger also plays a huge role in my willingness to do so.

As an athlete, I am used to team sports. I'm used to individuals coming together for a common goal. I'm used to the balance of strength and weakness and how a championship team becomes champions.

I also know that a champion is not vulgar. A champion is not selfish. A champion is not judgemental. A champion is humble. A champion is dedicated. A champion leaves everything he/she has on a field or on a track or in a cage or on a court in a classroom or at work. A champion not only admits faults but embraces them. Learns from them. A champion asks for help. A champion is always willing to listen.

We are droughting champions, each of us in our own right. Those that frequent just to observe. Those that partake. Those that question and those that believe it could be so.

A champion above all, always believes in themselves and their team.

You guys are my team and I believe in you and I need you to remember to believe in myself.

I happen to have 8 caterpillars currently (I raise Swallowtail)...and here's our next droughter, Chi-Chi. She is a @Weed Seeds Express Gelato Auto. At 67 days from seed today. Looking at about 2 weeks til drought. Maybe less.

Cool.. well, I've been a champion in my own right and so I can definitely relate. I love the sports analogies, as you know. Going from learning how to ride a motorcycle to racing at an expert level in 5 short years, I have that same drive you do.

I haven't followed your caterpillar experiment or hobby yet so I'm curious as to why raise these? That sounds like a disaster with your plants, but obviously I don't know what you're doing. I'm actually looking to pick up a new hobby. I just found a guy online that picks locks and thought that would be a fun hobby and maybe a good skill to have to supplement my medicine growing. You really don't know when and where these might come in handy in the future.

"A lot of people"? You must be getting flak somewhere other than here because I think most of the comments in this thread have been positive, or at least respectful.

Plus, if you have confidence in the technique, who cares what others think, whether educated on the topic or not?

I kind of lump this technique in with bud washing. Many who have tried it will never not do it again. Some have tried it and won't continue, and some will just add their uninformed two cents and may criticize along the way.

Whatever, that's true of any technique, much less one as new to the scene as this one.

Many of us have had different levels of success using it but it's not your job to convince us of it's benefits. You've done a great job spreading the word and many of us that have tried it will add it to our process. But not all. Doesn't mean you've failed in your efforts.

I think you're being too hard on yourself.

Celebrate the successes and let the other less positve comments roll off your back. Life's too short to dwell on the negative.

Easy for us to say as we often aren't the ones the comments get directed to, but we will continue to share our attempts, good and bad, and see if we all can learn something along the way. There's been lots of experimentation already in this thread from different mediums, to timelines, to rescue drinks and not.

Kind of an interesting process if you ask me.

So, keep your head up and just accept unconventional ideas bring a wide range of feedback as part of disseminating the ideas.
