Hey guys, this is my first attempt at growing, i actually don't smoke but i have been living with chronic pain for the past 4 years and taking too many opioids that ruin my appetite and sleep so i decided to give this new medicine a shot!

Specs:

1x 40x40x120 Tent with Passive intake
1x Extraction fan with carbon filter
1x 55W LED
1x Small Fan
3x Auto Northern Lights - 00 Seeds

I decided to share my progress, both because i'm proud of it so far but also because this way i might be able to help someone that might be wanting to try something similar and also get some help from you guys :)

Currently on day 30

Hey Bud, you should be proud...they look awesome! A great day 30! Are you planning to complete the grow in that space (micro grow)? If you are, I would be most interested in sticking around to see how that pans out for you as Iam really very interested in how people manage (and do well with) micros, if that's ok? Iam sooo envious right now...here's why. Iam currently growing 3 NLs from 00 in total. One I started in rockwool and the to dwc and two were growing in coco until week 4....then tragedy struck. Both plants wilted and went as flat as a pancake within 40 mins. I have completed quite a few grows over 3 years now and I have never seen this happen before so I don't know where I / what went wrong. So I took them out of the coco (roots looked pristine but I still cleaned them up) and popped them into DWC's to see if they could be revived. It's been 2 almost 3 days and they are still looking very beaten up and are not very responsive, but I shall persist and see what happens because they look like such a beautiful plant and I have not grown this strain before. Keep up the great work!

Hi @LilFuzz thanks for taking the time to show your support! I plan on completing the grow in this tent, this one and much more. I'm not aware of how much medicine i will need so i might have to upgrade in the future but for now this will do. It is a very small space and what i did not say in the first post is that this seeds are actually the Auto Northern Lights XXL, i assume that they are more like super autos (longer veg time). I did not wanted to top or LST because i would hate to ruin my first attempt, i'm keeping everything as simple as possible for now but i start to fear that they will grow more than the tent can handle, i did not expect to do this well. Anyways if the time comes to deal with lack of space i will think of something. I have the next one planned already, i will do a single plant, photo, in coco, Pink kush from barney's farm.
I'm very sorry to hear about your ladies, its really weird that something like that would happen, i can't think of anything that could cause that... maybe over-watering but that is unlikely in coco... I hope they get well soon! :D

Hey @BudPacient ! Mind if I tag along? Im not very experienced myself, but your setup and grow intrigues me too! I dig the microgrows, sometimes space is an issue, but the need for proper medicine is also an issue. I'm doing my 1st grow at the moment.

Have you started or looked into LST at all?

LilFuzz nailed it, you should be proud!!

Hey @Rexer, glad to have you on board. Small and stealthy grows is something very appealing to everyone that lives in countries where it is illegal to grow. Also i'm not sure if this will help my condition so i need to try it before going big, either way seeing people growing in small spaces is very fun to watch.

I have not done any type of training and i will keep it that way, mostly because i have more vertical space than horizontal, my next grow will be just one plant with LST :)

Hey bud, do you minding I ask what your condition is? Or type?

Certain strains will effect differently for pain management, and consumption methods will also effect it.

I have sever chronic nerve pain, so far indicas have been the most helpful, and when pain gets really bad I reach for edibles.

@Rexer Basically i have permanent back pain (between shoulder blades), i have been to many doctor and done all kind of exams and they cant find the cause (no cause no treatment). Last specialist i went to basically told me i would have to live like this the rest of my life. I googled a bit to see what would be better for be, honestly i found some success stories but also some people claiming that it did nothing for them in regards to pain, if it helps me with appetite and sleep that is already something. That being said i have northern lights growing now (indica) and i will grow Pink Kush from barney's farm in the next one, i heard it is really good for pain, appetite and sleep.

I will do extracts and experiment to see what works best for me :)

Ah man you have my understanding, I cant say I understand everything you're going through, only you could. But if you ever wanna chat up or vent, feel free to tag me and there's never judgement from me. My bad days I cant carry jug of water, and sometimes when I get a flare up it'll hit me right between the shoulder blades to point of almost loosing conciousness.

The thing with me for using cannabis medically was I didn't and don't want to go down the opiod path, always needing something stronger. It doesn't eliminate my pain, but it did get me off of several pills a day (I was maxed out daily in NSAIDS).

Yup, indicas and some hybrids are what helps me best.

Hope this comes across only as it's meant, an attempt to be helpful. :passitleft:

Update:

They keep growing beautifully, one is particular stretched noticeably, hopefully they start flowering soon. I started feeding them gently and did some light defoliation on the lower parts. The side branches are shooting up really nice, i pushed the powers under the side branches so that they can get more light, some are almost as tall as the main one. Last but not least i had the humidity at 70-80% and was able to put in at 50-60% :D

Day 31

They keep growing beautifully, i started increasing the dark period to reduce growth because there is not much headspace left in the tent and they started showing their sex (more about that here Autos not flowering until i reduce light time). I did some defoliation on the lower parts of the plant because there was no chance that lower part would ever get any light.

They are currently on day 35 or 36

Hey guys, a new update on the ladies. They are on their first week on flower so there is not much to see yet in terms of bud. They look healthy overall except for a few visual clues that might indicate nutrients and calcium deficiency. I started to feed them a few days ago, i did not wanted to do it before they actually required it because most of the mistakes that i saw beginners do is feed / water their plants to death, so im trying very hard to avoid that (too hard maybe?). Look at them and let me see what you think.

@Rexer any inputs?

Hey budpacient! Girls are looking happy and praying!
It does look like a bit of a deficiency. I'll get back to you on that...I found a great flow chart in West Hippie's grow journal, I put a link in my signature...if you've got a printer, this is ink worthy lol.

Keep an eye on new growth, if they show signs of deficiency then begin to worry.

How do the underside of the leaf's look (where you took the pics)? Not sure if you did, but I try and keep the habit of looking at both sides of the leaves when I see something amiss.

You've got a tight space so LST is gonna be hard, but if I were you I'd start doing some ponytails to help get light down low, just dont forget to set a timer to undue the ponytails! I have a pic of when I ponytailed mine if you need...what's your PH and ppm/ex?

I meant to say at the end, can you give a complete feed list (what's in you're nutrient mix)? Along with the PH and EC/ppm of the nutrients please?
I'm going to tag in some good people who I think are on and can help much better then I
@stoneotter @Pennywise @MochaBud
@West Hippie
hope you dont mind my tagging but if one of you could help @BudPacient medical grow out?

Hey @Rexer, thanks for the help. I always look under the leaves, i agree, its very important. The girls look normal under the leaves, nothing much to see really. I started feeding them with Grotek cal-mag, half the recommended doses and powder feeding from Green House Seeds, also half of the recommended doses. I dont really test the PH, i know that it comes out of the sink at 6.5-6.8 so i dont really do anything with it. I though about putting some lemon in the water to lower the ph but the soil said it had a PH of 5.5 so i expect them to balance each other out.

Looks like a calcium def, presenting itself like a case of spider mites...But, you may want to use a magnifying glass to look at the bottom of your leaves to make sure :thumb:

And the dark spots on the veins of the leaves looks like a Potassium def....

My 2 cents is hit them girls with full feed (Autos love their food) and add a tbsp of epsom salts to a gallon of that feed...Oh and try not to let your girls touch the side of the tent for too long, it can cause mold, the temperature difference between the inside and outside of your tent creates moisture/condensation that your leaves won't like :goodluck:
And thanks for tagging me @Rexer :passitleft:

Thanks a lot for the input, i will check better. I might have waited too long to start feeding them, i was really afraid of burning them because i dont know what the soil came in with. I will up their nutrients the next time i feed them, until then i will have time to see what the results of the last feed look like. Unfortunately i have been noticing the condensation on the leaves, i wish i could do something, i try to remove excess leaves and move them around but its just too many plants in one small pace, next time i will do one photo only, but right now i dont have the heart to kill any of the ladies :(

Leave your extraction fan running 24/7 it will help with the condensation as well as temps :thumb:

Don't worry about that, they're pretty resilient...Here's a scrog I started to feed too late and the leaves were turning yellow..

But then I double dosed her (twice the feed) and she was fine :thumb:
