Guesstimator's 2ND Grow - ZNET4 LED's - Indoor - 3 Strain

I received the wiring info I needed, I replaced the ballast by splicing in the new wiring and the fixture works great as ever. Thank you Amy. I guess this is somewhat industry standard and I was not aware. Let it be known.

Back to the plants, I am seeing some fun growth and all appears to be going great. I have the LED's aimed at an angle and the T5 is leaned in from the other side, with both pointed towards each other. The plants are getting blasted from all angles from 2 different light sources / types, not sure what else I could throw at them. Some bigger CFL's perhaps?

It is now hours from being 7 days since 12/12 and tonight the new regimen of 13/11 will commence. After much reading and thinking, this makes more sense as 12/12 is a broad rule to cover all strains. I believe my strains do not require this much dark, and will give this a shot.

These pics are right after I rotated them tonight, as I do daily. The combo of these lights appears to be great together now. Just gonzo growth with that sidelight source, I like it! And I almost didn't install it, thank goodness I did.

I actually think the sideways shots show the plant a little better, and I forgot to turn it. lol Sorry folks.

Hey guess, looking good!
I think u are really gonna like the critical kush! I have one in flower now and it looks like it will be producing a bunch!

Re: switching to 12/12 then back... You could do this, people routinely do this to determine sex, it seems unnatural though and I wouldn't make a habit of it.

Today is day 19 of 12/12 and I couldn't be happier with the growth this time around! Explosive, to say the least! An absolutely different experience compared to the last go-'round!

I have mixed things up a LOT in the tent since my last update. I have switched the tent back over to HPS, with the LED's providing supplemental lighting to the edges. The plants seem to LOVE this!

I have also gone nuts ordering stuff. I am awaiting my new reflector hood (Super Sun II) so I may put it and the new Hortilux 600w I just got in there. Also, and the best news of all, is I got a second tent coming my way! Perpetual grow, here we go! I am so excited to have a dedicated grow and flowering tent, this will allow me to grow my legal limit of plants and get more selection while trying to find the meds that work best for my particular conditions. Awesomeness indeed!

The new tent will be small, 36"w X 22"d X 63"h. It will have one ZNET4 in there (until I find a new LED fixture to replace it with) and (2) 2' floro bulbs with reflectors. It has a 4" exhaust fan and filter as well.

On to the pics of the plants. I am still using the GO BOX for nutes, but I have just added Hygrozyme to it yesterday and boy did they love it! I will be switching to Earth Juices complete line with all new plants, but finishing this batch with the GO BOX for now.

I posted the following on the "Grow Room" section, but thought I'd post it here too.

Hey guys, I have my journal link below, but I have not been able to update nearly as often as I'd have liked.

This is my lame attempt at being clever. I was able to get this, very clean and (well, it was) fully functioning commercial grade freezer for free (score!) and I got an idea. I'd been wanting a new, more clean looking, more fireproof, safer and in-general better grow tent. So I took it home and spent 20+ hours this weekend (and under $100 by reusing items from the old tent!) and got to work. I removed all the cooling apparatus (in one piece, and I can put it all back if I ever need to) and gutted it back to a more plain cabinet. I then used many things, such as eye bolts and the like to create attachment points. I used just about every tool in the garage to cut thru the double layers of metal (galvanized steel, stainless steel and aluminum construction throughout, high density foam sandwiched between) and got all the holes needed to run the ducting (twice actually, I screwed up the first duct layout, the last pictures below show the current and correct design).

Where the blower motor was, and the condenser was I have now installed the 6" duct fan. This keeps it within the (obviously very well insulated) cabinet and keeps sound down, but the top cover is removable for service. And now if people see it and hear it running they obviously think the freezer is just running. Stealthy. :thumb:

I have to purchase new lock cylinders and keys for the doors, as I didn't get keys with this freezer, but it being lockable would be a massive plus IMO. That should prove to be cheap and easy, I hope.

Please feel free to let me know what you think and any comments. The holes in the bottom will have (if I get the energy, I'm sore and tired! lol) screen material put underneath the holes to keep the bugs out and these holes function as intakes as well as drainage for watering with a short, long and wide bucket under the whole shebang. And if I get a little extra energy I will make a "light trap" for the intake/drain holes. Again, OMG I'm old and sore. lol

I still have LOTS of tweaking and playing around to do (lighting placement, fan placement, adding the LED's or not, etc...), but I think this is more or less the setup for the balance of this grow at least.

(Oh, and btw, the Skywalker took massive damage early in life and went ballistic growing tall, all three are in week 6 now and, for being my second real grow I couldn't be happier!!!!)

So, whatchya think folks?

I took some pics of the ladies a couple days ago and then tonight took an early cutting of a smaller branch and looked it over with the (OMG so inexpensive!!!) digital microscope. Since I just past week 6 I had expected to see the Tric's nice and clear and I wasn't disappointed.

Here's the pics:
