harvest questions

when I start harvesting, can I cut off the good buds and allow the under growth to continue to ripen...and also is it a good idea to cut away the fan leaves about a week prior to harvest to allow full light penetration to the other parts of the plant??

You can harvest the top colas and leave the rest to fatten up, after you harvest the tops it will stress the plant out which could make it take an extra couple days to recover. I always trim fan leaves usually earlier than 1 week before harvest some ppl say not too but IMO it does let more light penetrate the under buds, i usually trim fan leaves throuhout the whole cycle. Once again if you trim too many fan leaves it will stress the plant which will make it take longer to recover and finish budding. IMO i would harvest the whole plant at once, i would also trim some fan leaves to allow more light, but don't go too crazy with it or it will stunt the plant.
