Strain - Pineapple Chunk & Blue Dream
# of Plants - 5 (ea.)
Grow Type - Soil
Grow Stage - Vegetative
Bucket Size - 1 Gallon
Outdoors
Medium - Miracle Grow moisture control potting mix

seeds were put in potting mix 3 weeks ago, transplanted 4 days ago to 1 gallon pots using same mix. Yesterday 3 plants started this yellowing from center base of top leaves, it seemed to have gotten better my late afternoon. However again this am early the same yellowing occurring.

I haven't applied any nutes yet. I do have some Advanced Nutrients Micro.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks NeonG, I am thinking of using advanced nutrients micro, I am leaning toward believing it is more of an iron deficiency than anything. The plants are only 3 weeks old and one week since transplant. I soaked the heck out of the pots when transplanting and I believe it may have released too many ferts that are already in the soil. Basically I am just monitoring them for a day or two more waiting for the mix to dry out and thinking to add the micro with next watering. They seem to be growing well other than the 3 with the small yellowing on top leaves. Only thing that concerns me with the micro is the .2 nitrogen as my mix contains 21 nitrogen already.

On another note, just got laid off from work so got some more time to diagnose. :icon_cool

Advanced is alright from what I've used from them. The b52 seemed like a great product that helped a lot. Just haddnt gotten into them too much because of a sponsorship on a different growing site that's really antigun (as an anarchist I HATE when politics get involved with growing). So I haddnt felt the need to get back into their line. I always suggest either cutting edge solutions or Humboldt county's own. I've used both and they both work great.

Haven't yet realized the politics involved. I'm still holding off on doing anything, may pot up :thumb: on sunday and water straight then. Today I see 3 tomato plants I transplanted 2 days after doing the same thin, same soil so thinking the big soak really laid the N to 'em. Haven't had much nute experience period but had some luck with these before so gonna stick with them through this grow.

Finally got some dry enough earth to dig some holes today 1/2 way there with 10 dug and filled ready for June 1, my transplant day as planned for now.
Had 5 of 9 freebies pop today, (3) Skunk Haze non femed, (1) Critical & (1) Auto Cash Crop. Will post some pics tom.

Thanx NeonGreen

Got my first grow journal up if anyone is interested?

some new pics of the babies, only one of the 3 that had the yellowing 3 days ago has some now, however a couple of new ones have gotten it and the other two have returned to normal. I am getting some ideas that my potting mix is releasing nutes at different times in different pots so as I go along I hope to learn to work with this good sprouting, readily available, affordable mix. My pots are 6 days from big water soak & transplant,

so tomorrow will add some MICRO and stay patient. are growing well, windy out today and I'm not gonna baby 'em.

updating 8 days since last post. Began by foliar spraying with epsom salts 1 teaspoon to a gallon and adding some to soil less mix. Also added 2 mil of iron chelate twice in a week to mix. 2 days ago I transplanted from 1 gallon to 2.5 gallons. My soil ph meter came in and instead of checking runoff I was able to check mix and found a high ph of 7.0-7.2 before transplanting. Used a combo of 2/3 distilled water with 1/3 well water from tap, added 2 tablespoons chelated iron and 2 tablespoons epsom to 5 gallons. Brought water solution down to 5.5 with "ph down" and used sta-green potting mix in new pots. Old mix was pretty hot IMHO using the MGPM (21-11-16), Sta-Green (10-8-6). This will be the last transplant before going in their holes (3-4 weeks) which I have finished last week with a mixture of Sta-Green, Mushroom Compost, and some extra perlite. All but one of these girls (a Blue Dream) is coming around fine and growing well. I have topped them all one time also. We had tornados all around last night and heavy straight line winds, they held up good, though 3 of the 5 Skunk haze week old seedlings were found with there leaves planted in the dirt this am, I puled them out and they too looked good at days end. Anyway, since I only had a couple of folks wanting to help me out I've been being patient and treating for Iron & Sulfur deficiencies, albeit lightly, and more likely than not it was all due to the high soil ph of 7.2. Now all pots are between 5.8 and 6.3. Weird how my well water is 7.0 with 375 ppm to a gallon vs my rainwater which is 7.8 with very little ppm (maybe 10), makes a good mix anyway.

so now for some pics, I had 7 of the 10 with pretty heavy signs of yellowing now only one, appears to not cure old damage only not showing up in new growth.
