How do I tell when the plant is finished

Do I look at the top buds or the bottom or mid ones?

And what if the bottoms turn brown but the top is still white?

Are you using a micro scope? I look at top middle and bottom. If some are ready and some not I trim the ones ready and let others finish. I go by trichomes to see when I want to cut. How are you doing it?

Same way but I ask because

This being my 3rd grow I keep getting smaller then popcorn buds and I use advance nutrients...I have 2 135W LEDS + 400w MH/HPS
So I thought maybe im harvesting to early because all of the hairs on the top would be brown/curled in and trichomes will be cloudly and still small buds

As of right now Im growing 2 auto red posions and tho their ending week (week 8) would be the 27th this month they dont look no where near done as most hairs are white and trichomes are still forming but their still small...not even the cola's have formed so i dunno

Dosnt sound quite ready yet bro. Go with your gut and your eyes. Your describing a plant that def is not quite ready.

clear trichomes = not ready
amber trichomes = over due
cloudy/milky trichomes = prime

try to find a magnifying scope so you can get a stunningly up close view of your babies
