So i just recieved 4 durban clones from a friend, they all have alternating nodes, they're up to node 4-6, how do I top these as the nodes are not parallel?

Just pick a spot and chop! :yahoo:

Well honestly that's kinda up to you. I usually go two or three down. If your top is 6 I'd chop at 3 or 4, maybe even 2. Might depend on how big the plant is, how much roots I think it might have, what branches are closest to each other for the most even canopy, if I plan on trying to use the top for a clone...I think of those things then kinda just wing it!

Depending on how tall the plant is and where the branches are I'm often pulling off the bottom set also to get the symmetry/access that I want.

the clones are really smally (check pictures ahead) i've been told to cut the 3rd/4th node but im unsure if I cut the lower or higher node as they are not semetrical

Post us a pic and we can have a better idea of what your dilemma is. I cut the stem 1/8"-1/4" above what I want to be my top node.

You might want to let them grow out a bit if they are small. I learned here the pro guys let their clones get quite big (reletively speaking, say 10"-12" maybe?) to establish a good strong root system before they chop, so they may be taking half the plant (multiple nodes) off at once. It's all about how you plan on training going forward.

Sorry I thought I had posted pics, heres 2 pics of my clone. As you can see it has alternating leafs/nodes.

I really wanted to top these then scrog them, but I have no idea where to top as the nodes arn't semetrical.

I really dont want to do any LST
