I feel like an idiot asking this, but how the hell do I use this light timer? If anyone has any knowledge on this thing I would be grateful to know.

Well your pic is not very clear. Usually on the dial there are small pieces that pull up or push down in 5 to 15 minute increments. I don't see that on there.

right under the white part of the dial,,,push down on the black tabs light comes on when tabs are down...goes off when pointer on wht dial gets to a tab thats up

to set it to the time....put arrow on numbers 1 is 1pm...13 is 1am...black arrow...turn dial clockwise
Kinda off topic.....how much light are you controlling with this timer?

the last i heard he had a 400 watter....did'nt know what kind,,,,,i was wondering what he was going to hook to that timer too...a lot of watts coming on all at once can cause a big problem
Those timers are as cheap as they come. Lot's of problems associated with them.....

Intermatic mechanical timers are my choice...almost bulletproof

As far as them timers goes...i quit using them...i really don't like all them watts coming on all at once...don't trust circuit breakers....maybe i'm paranoid..puffing on these ladies

It's controlling 2 400watt HPS lights. I actually figured out how to use the timer, and it seems to working quite well.
Just an FYI...I've seen those timers melt with less load than that. Melt bad.
