He's talking about the trichomes and ball or head at the end ot the stalk that's where the good stuff is.

Some of my trichomes have developed heads, some don't as TysonOG stated. My question is: Are all trichomes intended to have heads by harvest or is this an indication my smoke won't have as much potency?

You have a ways to go and they will develop as the plant matures. Now the amount varies from strain to strain.
