Welcome to the Bubble Party! Wish I started this sooner but my area been kinda crazy. I got my first real non bag seed from a friend, Bubble Party strain. It’s a cross between Wedding Cake and Indiana Bubble Gum. It’s a indica dominated hybrid with 25% thc. Wedding cake is a personal favorite of mine, I’ve never the wedding cake strain less that 32% thc. I’ve never had IBG but I’m still excited to see how it turns out. I’m pass germination, but I started in rockwool cubes 3-11-2020. Soaked for 10 minutes in PHd water, dropped the seeds in, placed in humidity dome and 3 days later I had little sprouts. I let them sit in for another 5 days until multiple roots were coming out the bottom and transplanted to DWC set up at 100ppm and 5.8 PH. She has been there for almost 48 hours now. Since I have 2 girls in flower I had to build a tent to host the Bubble Party. PVC, PVC fittings, reflective insulation, and trusty duct tape and voila! Cheapest tent that wasn’t the right size was $200 in my area, my sizes to fit tent cost me about $60 to make. Again welcome to the Bubble Party! We do have a visitor to the party, Cherry White. It was a regular seed I got too, had some Fox Farm Ocean Forest laying around so gonna run that in soil. Not gonna do a separate journal for it but it’ll be photobombing the party from time to time. Let the party begin!

Bubble party update. Took BP about 5 days for the roots to pop out the net pot. Had the water level so the bubbles were splashing through the stones and each day took a solo cup of water out until the water level was an inch below net pot. Definitely glad I let the seed go a lot longer in the rockwool before transfer. First dwc run I waited for 1 root to pop and transplanted. It took about the same amount of time to break the netpot but it was only 1 root. This run I waited for multiple roots to break the rockwool and now there’s multiple roots breaking out from all over the netpot. Lesson learned. PPM at 140 PH raises up to 6.1 and I lower back to 5.6-5.7. I love how much faster dwc is then soil. Last night added a second bulb to the party so now she’s 1600 lumens. 43 days till the flower spot is free so goal is to have her trained and ready by then.

Update: Bubbles ran into her first issue, similar to my first grow, brown slime on the roots. I cleaned her off with RO and H202 but it came back again. First run I remember covering the pebbles after reading a thread about light leaking through the stones. All I could find was a folder so I put a couple layers of duct tape to help it. Also I been putting a frozen 20oz bottle every day at lights on. At res change upped the nutes a little to 230ppm, PH been at a steady 5.8 so not doing much to her. Just the damn slime, Fingers crossed this upcoming week. Lil Cherry had a change of medium last week. For years I been reading about solo cup grows and coffee can grows so I decided to try it with Lil Cherry. I had a empty protein canister that scratched my itch so I said fuck it and transplanted soil to dwc. Dumped the dirt, carefully dissected the rockwool, slid the roots through the netpot, added pebbles and in she went. She hasn’t started growing yet so maybe she’s still in shock but she hasn’t wilted at all. The bubble party continues....

A couple days late on the weekly update but this past week Bubbles got some training done. She’s been topped twice for 8 main colas, all her training is done for now. Got a couple weeks before she moves out the veg tent so hopefully by then she’s a decent size. She’s most likely gonna get a scrog when she goes into flower. Little Cherry got topped once and then LST. I knows it’s really early but Cherry has about 3-4 weeks before she moves out so she has plenty time to recover. Lately I been watching defoliation videos by Black Dog LED and they seem to produce good size nugs at a decent potency. They do a heavy defoliation at day 1 and 21 of flower. Kinda scary to watch but the results they show are pretty impressive. So many things I wanna try.

Not a good week this week. My a pump took a shitter so only one outputs works. Had to ghetto rig something but now both girls are sharing one outlet, weak airflow but it has to do till the new pump comes in. Decided not to bullshit with fish tank pumps and got a real one. Also got a new PH pen after seeing issues popping up on Bubbles and Lil Cherry. Almost broke out the debit card and bought a blue lab but I’ll wait until I have a better set up with a reservoir. Based on the new pen my water on girls were WAY OFF! No wonder I had issues. Old pen said 6.5 on the new pen same water was 5.3. Might just go back to the old school water and drops. No calibration needed. Other then that Bubbles is good, LST now for 16 main tops, she is done training. Oh yeah and her brown slime on the roots is under control. She needed more air flow. I’ll let her grow out a bit until she’s ready for flip. Little Cherry is finally coming along. She has more damage then Bubbles. With the new pen she was at 5.6 PH. With the old pen she would jump from 5.8 to 6.8 overnight so I can only imagine what the real numbers were. She’s probably staring at me wishing her leaves could reach me. Both girls have been eating regardless. Until next week my friends.

Good week this week. With room under the flower light Bubbles and Cherry are going through the change. Want to keep them smaller this run. Bubbles has a few brown spots coming in so tomorrow is water change. She’s missing something with all her eating. Her PPM started at 420 last week and today she’s at 300. Both girls got defoliated, start of week 1 and again start of week 3. Bubbles is having strict training, I kept a couple loose tops for clone. Cherry, she is a for fun mini grow so she’s running wild. Plus she’s not feminized so she might be a he. The wifey has been living on Amazon lately and surprised me with a grow light. NexTrend 450w 60• cob double chip. New pump came in, bought some aeration discs for the flower buckets too. Wifey was laughing at me staring out the window with the dogs waiting for the delivery man all week. Gonna try to keep the light a minimum 2 feet away this time. Until next week guys...

Happy Mother’s Day to any mother’s on here! Bubbles and Cherry are filling in nice. Still LST training Bubbles trying to keep the tops even, supercropping a few tops too. At day 21 I’ll do another defoliation and let her be, besides LST. PPM started in the 600s now bubbles is 430ppm. Been topping off with 600ppm water until water change. Cherry needs rehab with all the drinking she been doing, almost drinking her container everyday. The few shorter tops on top of the picture is her. I supercropped the shit out of her, she took it like a champ too. I’ll get some better pics of her tomorrow morning.
