Alaska - Alaska State Troopers seized more than 500 marijuana plants and almost $83,000 in cash from a commercial growing operation in Wasilla.

The Mat Su Drug Unit also seized guns, vehicles and growing equipment following the Monday search of the Wasilla home of Trace Thoms, 46, and his wife, Jennifer Thoms, 35, troopers said.

Investigators found 511 plants weighing 214 pounds -- which would yield roughly 36 pounds of processed pot -- as well as growing equipment and processed marijuana, troopers said.

They also seized $82,945 in cash, two guns, a Ford F-250, a Volvo front-end loader, a large enclosed utility trailer, five snowmachines and an ATV, troopers said.

The Thomses were both charged with four counts of fourth-degree misconduct.
