Might be a good idea to flush coco and then rebuffer it with cal-mag before using again, hopefully @Bill284 will drop in
Hey 013 :ciao: how have you been my friend?
Hope your summer is going well.
Without any scientific explanation this is what I did.
Harvest every month 8-12 pots depending that's a 100lbs of coco a month.
I couldn't afford to to replace so I
Let the pots dry post harvest 2 months, dry.
I'd break it open and pull out the root ball and all the plant matter I could.
Then in mix it with Bokashi and Frass and mist it.
Then I'd mix it 50/50 with fresh coco and new perlite.
Then mix in more Bokashi & Fras & @DYNOMYCO mist mix well and let sit a week or so in a huge tub.
This let's everything start growing inside, microbial and fungal.
Then I'd use that tub to fill my pots Bill284 Method.
Which has more, you guessed it Bokashi, Frass & @DYNOMYCO .
I ran that over and over for years never had issues.
Can't say any science behind the process but it worked. :thumb:

Take care.

Thanks for the reply Bill and I hope all is grand in your & Stacys’ sliver of the universe

It is going well thank you my friend. :ciao:
I'll have to put all those tutorials together in a thread by themselves, easier to find.
I've been trying to show some of the tips I've learned doing a perpetual grow.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Hope the Coco explanation helped.
It's a way to keep using the old coco at least.
Take care.
