Welcome to the Journal!
Big is not particularly about the size of the grow but more about the size of the journal.
I am starting a whole new grow environment at the same time and the beginning of this journal will be about that, the issues and how they were dealt with.
I am no expert on any of this but have a few successful grows under my belt so happy to share the little I do know and hopefully get some advice along the way.
Thanks for stopping by

One of the problems I have here in the frozen north of the UK is weather and more importantly the cold!
I had previously grown inside the house but to be honest that was not all that convenient with a family running around, visitors etc, etc so the plan was to construct a nice sized grow room externally.
Again, weather played a large part in the final solution.
A 3m x 2m industrial storage / shipping container!
First problem was getting it insulated.... A few pics below show the process I undertook

The starting point..... One bare steel container

70mm x 38mm timber attached to the side using construction adhesive... Help in place by the spreaders till it dried

Floor getting the same treatment!
Thats it for now... More to come

Ok, sorry if the above pics were a bit slow... Forgot to resize them, hopefully next lot will be better for you......

Once all the stud work was done it was time to panel it out with some 75mm rockwool slabs sandwiched between.

Treated all the ply that was used for lining with bleach to kill any nasties, mould, funghi etc. Was new wood so should have been ok but better safe than sorry....

Then it was back inside to start.... Holding the insulation up with some duct tape while I put on the ply

and on and on

Until it was done

Had a good weekend in the "Potting Shed"....
Cutting out all the holes for electric sockets, wiring already placed behind ply during insulation phase
These will be for the grow lights

Same just above floor level which will be for water and air pumps, dehumidifier, humidifier, fans etc

Also placed the wiring above roof ply for some general lighting

Quick set up of the electrics outside the grow room itself......

Then there was light!!

All in all very pleased with progress so far.....
Lots still to do before I get to the fun stuff but to be honest I think the effort is worthwhile, dont want to do this twice so trying to get it right first time...

Still to do:-
Ventilation
Wall coating

Had a real good test of insulation last night..... Was doing some sorting of wiring late into evening and left the small fan heater on overnight by mistake.... Went up there this morning and opened the grow room door, hit by a wall of warmth.... Outside roof was solidly coated with snow where grow room is and some melting in the small area in front of it where the ceiling has yet to be fitted...… Dont think we will be leaving much of a thermal image from above...!

Hope all is well in your world.

Is this grow still alive?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info.

How about posting a 420 Strain Review?

If you need any help with posting photos, please read our Photo Gallery Tutorial.

I am moving this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates.

Sending you lots of love and positive energy.
