I hope this finds everyone well! I have gone over to the Coco side, trying a top feed DTW system...I’m using The Bucket Company’s 3 gallon medical bucket system...using 75% coco, 25% perlite.The growth has been outstanding! The genetics areTrump Seeds BB#3xGSC. I’m starting the PH at 5.8 in the reservoir, and let it drift to 6.1-6.2...PPM is at around 400. They are up to 2 feeds/ day at the moment. I have been crazy busy with work now that I am able to work again...after 6 months off due to the global pandemic.
I am starting this journal a few weeks into the grow...i hope I can find time to do updates!
I have switched to LED as well, running the 500 watt full spectrum from @Budget LED...very impressive up to now! The heat signature has almost disappeared, and the electricity bill has more than halved what it was with HID!
I cannot upload pictures at the moment, I will try again when I’m back home...I’m starting this from work, as it seems to be the most free time I have at the moment.

Evening all here’s a peek Inside the tent...it’s a top feed, drain to waste system. I have a 90l reservoir outside the tent that feeds an irrigation manifold, each manifold has 2, 360 degree spray heads. The waste runs into the run-off pump that sits on the floor of the tent(it’s the thing that has The Bucket Company printed on it) which contains a bilge pump that automatically pumps the waste water into another reservoir. Which then gets fed to house plants/ gardens etc, the aloe has never been so plump! All 4 of the 3 gallon buckets drain directly into the run off pump...on a slight downward angle, so gravity works it’s magic. I’m still waiting on delivery of some proper timers to get the irrigation system automated, until then I plug the pump in for about 20-25 seconds, 2 times a day. With work those 2 times a day can be a bit erratic! I need the damn timers man!
The budget led seems to be killing it! The growth has been pretty quick with the coco led combo!
I have the light at about 55-60%, so there is loads of lumens left! I have to give 2 big thumbs up to the guys at Budget LED! They got the new light shipped to me super quick, with no hassles at all. I’m in Canada so that can be tough to do properly!

Almost a weekend update, well it’s my weekend...make it a long one!
I hope this finds everybody well, well I put up the scrog net today...I have received the timer I need so I can set it to the second. I’m currently running 2 fertigation events per day @ 42 seconds each. First is 10 minutes after the lights come on: 7:25ish pm...the timer seems to drift a bit? So watering at 700- 742. I also have a smaller pump in the reservoir that stirs it all up every 4 hours, and comes on 30 minutes before the main pump sends the goods to the plants. Second watering event happens 10.5 hours later, same duration as the first time. Seems like a good amount of time so far, but will take some tweaking I’m sure?
The reservoir stays at a pretty constant PH of 5.9-6.0, ppm:400...I have been using straight 3 part feed program(micro,grow,bloom), with added Cal-mag, and have been alternating every reservoir change with added Silica(plant guard)...then top it off with Hydroguard let it mix then PH down until it stabilizes at 5.8-6.0. Not sure if it’s the Hydroguard, but I have some crazy roots coming thru all the net pots. Of course I put the Cal-mag in before the others, and yes I start with the Micro then PH at the end...when it’s Silica time it goes in hours before anything else, as it really needs to mix in properly, then cal-mag etc. It sits on the garage floor so the temperatures have been staying moderately cool without a water chiller so far.
Right...these plants are 36 days from seed today!
I hope everyone is smoking some tasty herbs today! I can’t wait to taste this Bruce Banner #3, GSC cross! The breeder says it’s one of his faves!

Good morning out there, I got up early so why not a little update? Today is res change day, so I started the day by hand watering. Everyone is looking healthy this morning, two of the BB#3 have reached the top of the scrog...started pulling back the tops to spread over the scrog net, hopefully the other 2 don’t take long to reach the net! I almost didn’t scrog, but it seems like the right thing to do to get an even canopy. They are around 39 days from germination...there is a sweet smell starting to emanate from the tent. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday...what’s being rolled up today? HP13 will be puffed on soon over here!

I also have another project going with seeds from the same breeder (Trump Seeds from the UK)No affiliation with the other guy!...the big plant is Fallout...(BB3xGSC)X(Black Domina x Blue Cheese) she is at 53 days, and is growing like a champ! She is about 1’ tall by just over 2’ across...Huge side branching, and super hearty! The smaller one is Sherbet Dip x Stardawg (35 days)...both are in 80% coco 20% perlite top feed, drain to waste. I originally had a different plan to grow only one tent but things change and I decided to grow them all out...so 2 tents, and 2, 500 watt full spectrum lights from @Budget LED! The lights are pretty awesome! Fully dimmable, full spectrum...the plants are loving the spectrum, the growth has been amazing! Or so I think...I think i will start growing 1-2 plants per tent, and grow large plants with a long veg period. @HunterNitro style with 500 watts per plant, this is really starting to appeal to me!

Happy Monday! My last day of freedom, before the next block of work...did a reservoir refresh, started feeding from it last night(20 gallons) hopefully it will last until Sunday without topping up?
Altered the timers to 51 seconds of fertigation time, the ladies like to drink it seems. Added an air pump with 2 air stones, it cycles thru 6 times a day for 30 minutes; same as the small circulation pump that hopefully stirs it all up.
I also added Drip Clean to the reservoir, which is supposed to help clean out hoses, irrigation manifolds, sprayers etc...with an added benefit of healthier plants? After 2 feedings I think they may look a bit greener? It could be wishful, time will tell.
I will add a couple pictures of the layout of the area...I’m currently feeding 2 tents with one reservoir/pump(550gph). Still waiting for the second run off pump, so I’m using a shop vacuum to “drain” the second tent. The run off pumps make everything super easy to pump the run off into a reservoir outside the tent!
It’s the only way I can work, and grow at the same time...with this coco stuff anyways, and multiple feedings.
Time to burn a large joint...peace to all the weed heads out there! Remember it’s always 420!

It’s Mega Monday...hard to believe another week has passed by! Yesterday was another reservoir change out day, the girls are drinking...with 2 top ups last week, there was almost 100 litres of nutrient rich water consumed. Today is the day I will flip to 12/12, in 9-10 weeks I could have some buds?
I added a Bluelab Guardian to the mix, which will make the nutrient/reservoir mixing much easier!
At a glance I now know Temperature, TDS, and PH! I am investigating water chillers today as well, also inline pumps vs submersible? I think an inline pump maybe easier to fertigation when the water levels are low...submersible pump design may not be what I need to maximize the draining of the Rez?
Timers have been changed, watering now at lights on then 8 hours later for 1 minute...that is the 12/12 watering twice/ day scenario.
I also need to change the lights over to flowering, and maybe crank them up a little...
I did a bit of defoliation/ cleaning up getting ready for the flip...now I will try and leave them be for 3 weeks or so.

Aloha Sunny...I had yesterday off, I napped most of the afternoon away! Topped up the reservoir last night, time to get ready for another busy week of mayhem! Happy wake and bake Sunday 420! I hope everyone is well amid this global pandemic, still unfolding? Thank goodness for Marijuana!
Time for a weekend update, before my week starts again, and my personal time disappears! I have added a 1/10 HP water chiller to the mix, the Rez temps didn’t want to stay down where I wanted them. Now it’s a breeze to keep it cool, it sits between 68-70F...between the Bluelab Guardian, and the chiller my growing life has become easier. This weekend I have very limited time, so I’m trying to go 14 days without cleaning the reservoir: just top ups until I have a little more time available for a full cleaning/ changeover. Nutrient strength is up this week to 450ppm(500 scale), ph hovers 5.9-6.1...it has been holding pretty steady.

Tomorrow is one week since the lights have gone to 12/12, it seems all are female. I have also graduated the girls from 2x/day@50seconds fertigation, to a 3x/day feeding @45 seconds. Hopefully they like it, as I maybe gone for a day or two before I can check back on them.
The stretch definitely seems like it’s on, they have grown about 8-10” past the top of the net now.

Good morning! I woke up at 420 this morning...it’s going to be a good day! I had a reservoir change today, so I got up early and got it started. I went 14 days with just top ups, I think it may have been to long? I will try for every 6-7 days from now on? The plants didn’t seem to mind, they stretched a lot over the last 7 days...and buds have started to take shape. I have been upping the PPM slowly, I got to 480 where it seems perhaps a small bit of burn? I backed off to 450 now, with more of a flowering concoction...less nitrogen, and added the Koolbloom liquid. Monday is the start of 3 weeks since the flip, budlets showed up mid-week...ish. Approximately 10 days for the first real pistils to emerge. How do YOU count the weeks? When you flip light cycles, or when pistils show up...

I got off a little early today, with a bonus day off tomorrow...and a package for the greenhouse waiting for installation...a little something to pump the drain to waste water out of tent #2 and into the runoff reservoir. Automation is one step closer.
