Leaf burn from lower side

@FelipeBlu

Attached the labels of the bottles. They go in the feeding schedule order from left to right on the feed chart.
They’re all 1 pound bottles. With recommended dosage at 1/4 to 1/2 tsp per gal with other nutes OR 1/2 to 1 tsp as standalone feed.

Cool
I’ll keep my feed schedule at week 4 for now, as week 4&5 have pretty much similar feeding dosage apart from the 12/12 light cycle.

@Bill284

The 5gal bags which I had are actually 7gal bags, just saw the product detail on the order page. Is it good or too much room for roots to grow from 2 gal bags.
They’re the fabric ones.

Hey @420growsessions I'm glad you got your order.
7 gal is my favorite, some of my biggest girls were chopped from 7 gal.
If you water properly you can fill a 7 gal fairly quickly.
I don't see any problem. :thumb:

@Bill284 @FelipeBlu
I’ve got another query heading your way.

I’ve attached pic of this girl which was one of the last in the batch to germinate and she’s at 25-27 days. She’s still in starter bag of 1/2 gal plastic bag with good drainage, I’m about to uppot her, should I put her in a 2gal fabric bag(will arrive in 2 days) to let her grow further or the final 5gal fabric bag right away

Added my palm for sizing
She’s about 12inches tall with lot of new root hair popping out of the stem trying to find new soil. Will plant her 2 inches deeper from current rise point.

Also any notable burn / deficiency?

@Bill284 @FelipeBlu

Hey guys!
How you’ve been?
Hoping the New Year’s been awesome till now.

Back again with some updates and questions

Posting pics of this lady after exact 3 weeks since shifting from 1/2gal starter bag to 7gal bag. She’s looking like a teenage to me now. And I can swear on anyone, handling this teenage growth phase of all my girls is absolutely hectic. Been super busy tendering to them.
Her height is almost 30 inches from 12 in exact 3 weeks.

Have a look, I have 2 questions.

The lower leaves are looking kinda dull, dropping down, but the top layer is fine.

So the question is
Should I be worried about the lowest most nods / leaves staying under grown, most probably coz of lights not penetrating till there.
If yes, what’s the solution,
If no, can I simply cut them off so that they don’t waste the nutrients that can be utilized better on the top.

Thank you.

Good morning @420growsessions hope your having a good day my friend.
Your garden is lovely. :thumb:
A lot of growers clean off the first couple nodes underneath.
As you say no light will get there and it produces larf.
Clean out underneath if you desire, you have lots of plant there.

Stay safe

Thanks a lot @Bill284
Will be first thing on my agenda tomorrow, just put the girls to sleep

Got another query regarding the white hair coming from every bud leaf set even in vegging stage, is that fine or a sign to go bloom ?
Will get the pictures of it tomorrow, skipped my mind.
Thank you

Good morning, how are you doing today my friend.
When you say white hair, do you mean 2 white hairs.
Or you talking about a bonetbfull of pistols.
Two little white hairs are just indicating sex / female.
A bonet of pistols indicates flowering stage of life.
Which do you have?
I don't see pistols?

Stay safe
Bill

@Bill284

Doing great buddy, just keeping with the pace of their growth.
How about you?

Check the pictures attached below.

She’s different from the one I asked about yesterday.

The white are pair of 2s which generally shows sex but some of them are turning a bit orange, is that fine ?

2nd pic is of a leaf which is more than 10 layers of leaves below fresh growth. Should the yellowing be a worrying factor, there are hardly 4 or 5 such leaves. The top 8-10 layers are looking good. Only a few on the bottom here n there.

Thank you

Good to hear my friend.
Don't fret about those hairs she is fine.
As @FelipeBlu mentioned typical mg def starting on lower leaves.
You can never go wrong following his directions. :thumb:
What have you been feeding recently?

Is this new? If so, you are probably experiencing early Mg def. I would add bit of Epsom salt (up to 1g/gal) to make sure you stop it from progressing.

Thanks @FelipeBlu
This started around a week ago, on lower set of leaves, more than 10 new sets have grown above it.
Noted, will add that to the next feed.

Thanks @Bill284

The feed is still the same as per week 4 schedule from FoxFarm charts as the vegging is still going on.

Feed includes

Myco+ 1g/gal
FF Open sesame 0.25 tsp/ gal
Bloom city cal mag 4-5ml/ gal
FF big bloom 3tsp/ gal
FF grow big 3 tsp/ gal
FF kelp 0.5tsp/ gal (alternate feed)
Added K 1g/gal

pH at 6.3

Watering until some amount runs off,
Drying the bags entirely before watering / feeding.

Also, I’ve noticed that a dozen or so root hair popping out of the new 7gal bags from sides.

Been 4th week running in 7gal bags. Is that fine ?

And I have a few 3gal fabric bags which should be due for uppotting soon, what technique should I use to remove the plant from the bag for putting in the 7g bag. As I wouldn’t want to tear fabric bags.

Thanks again Bill

Feed looks good :thumb:
Roots sticking out mean the roots are to the outer edge there and are still growing looking for water.
Uppotting, you basically want to squeeze the bag as you roll your hands around it.
Making it dislodge from the sides and dome out the top.
I explain the whole process in my Gorilla Glue clone thread if you are interested have a look.
I explain everything you need to know to run a veg room with 50 girls.
Lots of good info for newer growers.

Hey guys,
@FelipeBlu @Bill284
Need some guidance again,

Noticed something today which seemed odd,

2-3 girls from my lot have seemed to grow smaller leaves on the top canopy compared to the lower leaves which are much bigger.
All other plants seem to be normal with even sizing spread across.

Adding a couple of pics for reference.

Room temperature is between 73F to 76F (23C to 24.5C)
RH between 42% to 51%
Room has 2 fans oscillating full time.
Everyone gets the same feed, quantity of water depends on the runoff.

There is no discoloration on the top or lower leaves, both layers have an even green tone throughout.
What can be the cause for this?

Thank you

Hey @420growsessions hope your having a good day my friend.
I like to see great big fans. :thumb:
Older leaves tend to be larger.
The ones that received the most light grew more.
As you go up leaves will get smaller and younger during growth.
It's all good from what I see. ;)
Everything looking good?

@Bill284

Thanks buddy,
Hope your weekend is going great!

The new fan leaves on other girls are as big as my palm if not bigger on some, only a couple of girls are growing smaller ones, which I posted above, there is no deficiency sign of any sort as of now,
Is the light intensity responsible for that?
I checked my light coverage.
I’m getting about 7000-12000 lumens(lux) of light on my top canopy with the number going down as I move the meter further down and away.

Thanks again

@Bill284 @FelipeBlu

Hey guys, hope you are doing well!

I am back with a few updates and questions.

The last time I posted 10-11 days back.
As my entire room is on pretty much same canopy level. The average height per plant was approx 25-35cm with a couple of them nearing 45cms, I initiated the bloom 2-3 days post that (Feb 2nd or 3rd) with a 20-24hr blackout to begin,
Plus all my last remaining 7gallon up-potting was done around same time for the slow movers.

Here are my queries for you.

1. The entire vegging I had the blue spectrum lights on. I’ve turned red spectrum dominant switch since going bloom. (Added the pics of blue- red and both together).
Should I keep them in the red spectrum or should I keep them on both switches together, as I had planned the dual switch for last 3-4 weeks as they will increase the light coverage when the canopy starts spreading too much for single switch to cover.
The lights are 600+600 watts dual chips with 240 true wattage on them.

2. Added a couple of pics of the current day bud formation in black and white and flashed one as not wanting to disturb the girls with light fluctuations.
For day 8-9 of flower they are looking a bit too fast forward in their growth to me, is that normal ? Or any specific reason for that.
My feed- dry- water- dry- feed cycle is at 8-9 days currently between 2 feeding days.

Let me know if any more info needed.

Take care
Thank you.

Keep both spectrums on at all times, girls can use both.
Infact more might help.
Lots of pistols day 9 fantastic.
Keep up the good work.
