MerryAnna's Swazi Adventure

Ok, start from understanding CEC, it's really crucial if you grow in soil.

Cation-exchange capacity - Wikipedia
Thank you for trying to teach me. I grow outdoors in soil in the same way that i've grown vegetables for 30 years and ganja for 7. I have no idea what this soil electricity thing is about, because that's all i understood- it's about electricity in soil. I refuse to even buy a pH meter, so i'm the wrong audience for this class. Thanks for trying, and i'm sure someone on here will find that very useful info to have, ma non sono io...

Ok, let me put it another way, you're aware that there are so called nutrients in soil in different amounts, forms and concentrations, right? Without them plant couldn't grow basically. But roots cannot uptake "heavy compounds", so they need them in "light form" as cations (positive charge) and anions (negative charge). CEC is responsible for holding the first ones like Mg+, K+, Fe+ or Ca+ and these are particularly important for terpene profile of the plant, especially calcium which also gives buds bigger weight and makes plant stronger against parasites and harsh weather.

I'm also adding this chart, which splits all basic nutrients into cations an anions.

This is important, cause plant cannot uptake anything else through the root!

Journal Day 3:
The girls are between 2 & 3 weeks old. They are still growing under the domes, patiently waiting for the season to become full spring (and waiting for me to finish their permanent homes).

all she gets or he and hoping for a he is tea no plain water and foliage fed twice a day with tea in coco

Botanicare pure blend tea 3 ml per gallon
You're hoping the Black Ops is a male, right? I can't remember where i read it, but there is a school of thought that's all about soil depths. Supposedly, if you grow seeds in soil where the potential for root development extends less than 2,5', it would turn out male something like 6 times /10. If the potential for root development extends to deeper than 2,5', it would turn out female 9 times / 10 (?). Does someone else have knowledge on this?

Yes I want it to be well I want to cross my Black Ops with a pre 98 Bubba Kush and see what comes out still don't know what I would call that one yet but I will be working on it

A has been living here for 2 weeks. B is going on 11 days, and the rest are 8 days settled.
If you ever wondered if transplanting has an effect, proof.
Compare to the photos above of Iamhigh85's 2 week 3 day olds.
The girls have settled in, slowly beginning to perk up. I can see an increase in foliar activity since Monday, so i'm not worried. There's still a long season ahead.

When it comes to products I have a lot of different things I can use normally I do not push my seedlings are clones because I don't have the room or the time but I am interested in breeding this one so I am feeding it Botanicare pure blend tea 3 milliliters per gallon 2 Times Daily one at sunup and one at sundown I swear that I think the reason it has such an impact on my plants is the micro bacteria that lives in it in the macro-nutrients compost tea is always a good way to help push clones and seedlings without burning them or hurting them because it is natural and it is not available all at once it is available over a longer period of time not to mention I think when they are that little they feed better through their leaves than they do their undeveloped roots this is another reason why I use full of spray with them being so young on Sunday I will post pictures of the Black Ops again to show you the difference and everyone else if transplanting is done right your plant will not even know that it's been transplanted I will let my plant dry out and then softly break it away from the side before transplanting I do this early before their roots actually make it entirely to the bottom and try to ball up reason for this is as soon as I transplant them in the roots are still headed down they continue to head down into the new pot it never stunts them because they never know but I am here if anybody has questions about foliage spray or any other questions I will be around

I know i was all high & mighty "no bottled nutes" at the beginning, but i'm thinking of maybe trying coconut water on a few of the girls. I was reading lots of weed porn yesterday, saw what others claim about cw, aj & root development. High in potassium & trace minerals, it make sense that the root system gets the best boost it can early on, before all that business with the flowers start. Thoughts?

Weed porn that supposed to be my book how is your other reading material did you enjoy it or have you not got started on that one yet

Some is the book, some nug shots on the interweb... i read 1 paragraph, then i have to go have a quiet think about what i read. V frustrating, i haven't gotten very far.

Very frustrating very slow to read and very in-depth I find it like you I read a little bit and then I find myself going and looking for the same information and other places and seeing if I can't connect the dots

The only problem with that is that i get distracted by all the other shiny new bits of information out there. The internet is a maze, and all those other links...

Day 6:
No visual update yesterday.

No bottled nutes. Molasses, epsom salts, worm castings and my backyard compost. I'm reserving the option to use organic fish & seaweed extract or coconut water. My compost is pretty good, i'll dump some wriggly earthworms in the beeeg tubs, and i believe deeply in the power of worm castings...
