MJ420's Second - Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

Hey everybody,:welcome:

It is GREAT to be back.

This will be my new journal. You can see my first journal in my signature.

First time didn't turn out so well...

But this time i have a setup my last closet grow could have only dreamed about.

For this grow I will be using Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil with 80/20 soil to perlite ratio. The nutrients are Fox Farm too, GB , BB , and TB for soil.

I have a 400 CFM fan by Hydro farm and a 600 W MH/HPS switchable lighting system.

I am doing one SC and one BB, for the first round.
Because these are such radically different types, fighting the growth and trying to keep them level is going to prove a challenge but rewarding to be able to feel the difference between them.

Now for some name drops. lol
Some of the growers on this site (and some that we miss) are my main inspiration for what I do.

Berrydizzle
Stratlogic
Shaggie420
and Boss
I pretty much learned it all from your threads.
So thank you.

And more lately from,
Pit
420fied
BAS
BWC BA
and
Munki

So thank you for doing what you do!

Right now the SC and BB are germinating as of 5:00 pm on Nov 16th. So stay tuned.

Room pics after work tonight.

Re: MJ420's Second. Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

This Room is total stealth. When everything is closed up there is no light or air coming out (too much coming in) ;) plus the room is completely hidden.

These are pictures of the entrance.
It is about 4 ft tall and a 16 in wide.

The First pic is from the door looking in.

The second is the open door from the inside.

The third is the door closed from the inside.

Here are some more pictures of the room.:grinjoint:

First is the ballast. Its a lumatek digital 600W . My power outlet is below it .

Next we have a the light 600W Metal Halide

rsz_mh_light.jpg

Next, on the left is the exhaust coming off the end of the reflector. It goes outside to a dryer vent. And on the right is an intake (that I thought was a great idea at first but i am gonna have to re-design).

rsz_in_and_out.jpg

Then we have a pic of my fan. Its 400 CFM Hydro-Farm (Awesome;))

rsz_fan.jpg

Last but never least...
This is the table where the plants grow on.
And under the table that is my drainage system (Just has a PVC fitting drilled in to one side and a hose through the floor)

Tell me what you think. Questions? Suggestions? Feel Free:grinjoint:

Re: MJ420's Second. Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

Why have you lined it with black on the inside? do yo plan on put some type of mylar or white reflective sheeting up

Yes Sir.
I'll be adding that later for sure.
Actually the order is going out tommarow for some 2 Mil Mylar sheeting. (Plus PH meter and solution, and some ph up and down)

Edit: Oh and the black plastic is just to keep everything out and be as air tight as possible.

Thanks for stopping by.

Update

Both the SC and BB seeds have sprouted and just went into dirt this morning. :woohoo:

So far 100% germination rate.
Thanks Attitude.

Hey,
Thanks man.

I've done some hydro before and my main bitch about it its that its just harder, like if you lose electricity in most hydro systems the plants can die very quickly, also PH fluctuation, and final taste is a bit more chemical.

I'm just waiting for those seeds to come up.:rollit:

Thanks for stopping by.

Re: MJ420's Second. Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

Update

The BB has shed it's case and can finally see that beautiful cotyledon. ;)

The SC has also barely poked up but has not shed the case yet.
Big crack though.

Re: MJ420's Second. Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

I wanted to post a few more randoms.

This one is my FFOF and Perlite. I did a mix of 80/20.

This is my timer, set to 18/6 now !

rsz_100_05571.jpg

This is a picture of the modifications to the door I just made. Basically it needed support so I could pull it tight into the Velcro.

rsz_100_05542.jpg

I also changed my Intake. Air is coming from the crawl space below the house.

rsz_100_05532.jpg

Just a pic that shows the layer of Perlite at the bottom. For me this just makes transplanting easier later.

Thanks for looking ! :grinjoint:

Re: MJ420's Second. Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

Looks like were off to a good start MJ420, hope everything goes smoothly.

By the way those pots you've put them in, it would be a good idea to cover them so the roots don't receive light when they start to grow.

Hey,
Thank you, TBD

Your absolutely right man.
I do not plan on having them in those pots for more than a couple of weeks so it shouldn't really be an issue.

Also, somewhere I heard that green plastic fights the negative effects light has on the roots. Not sure on that though.

Anyone wanna chime in on that little statement there?

Really man the MD bottles were just there. :smokin:

Thanks for Stopping by!

Re: MJ420's Second. Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

I know that green light, fights negative effects light has on a plant in the dark hours during 12/12 for photosynthesis to happen but never herd of it doing that type of thing for roots :scratchinghead:

Hey,
Thanks man.

Yea that is a good deal. I looked at Lowes here but didn't see anything like that.

No big deal though. I put in the order on the 18th for some 2 Mil Mylar sheeting so I'm expecting that anytime.

+ Reps for the Deal Find. :grinjoint:

Re: MJ420's Second. Dutch Passion's Blueberry and Strawberry Cough Fem SCROG

Update

Both seedlings are doing very well.

The BB was the first to sprout, but now the SC is about an inch taller.

Also when should I lower the lights? Because right now my 600w MH is approx 4 ft above seedlings.

And when I do lower, how close can they be for as much node stacking as possible w/o burning them? :Rasta:

What do you think?

Update

This pic is of the BB, It was the first to sprout but is now shorter.
BB_11-23.jpg

This one is the SC. Just about and inch taller than the BB.
SC_11-23.jpg

This is a comparison shot.
Height_11-23.jpg

This one shows the height of the MH above the plants.
LD.jpg

When can I lower it? And how far away should it be for a 600W MH?

Thanks
