Mold in my soil

Hi All,

I opened my plastic bins that I store my Pro Mix in and this is what I saw.

I'm guessing this is mold. I haven't had this problem before, but the Pro Mix bags had been open for quite some time (and dried out a lot) before I put it in bins in the past.

Should I treat this soil as contaminated and get rid of it? Or is it usable?

Thanks,

FP. :peace:

Hi All,

Pro Mix says it is normal. This is what they said:

This is normal for the soil to have the mold when you open the bag, it will go away.

it's the moisture combined with the myco and some other ingredients that will do that.
For your storing soil, the reason its dry is because the wetting agent is gone in the soil. I hope this answer satisfied your question.

Thank you for choosing Pro-Mix!
