Need Help from Cali MM Patients

It really does seem like a lot of the laws are as yet-to-be defined until they have been tested. And, they are changing a lot. I know because my company works really hard to stay up to date on the laws so that we can make sure the dispensaries using our software are operating in the most legit way possible.

I guess CA is a love or hate thing. I moved here this spring and am counting down the years until I can leave!!! My country sheriff has the goal to see no more dispensaries in this county. Sure enough, he's raided them one at a time for BS, just to make it difficult. The laws are not clear and easily abused on both sides. Each county is very different here and the cost of living is the worse I've encountered in the US.

#1 gripe about CA for me is that pain doctors drug test for marijuana during the initial consult then refuse to take any patient who uses MMJ. It doesn't matter if you are up front and tell them or they find it in the test. They don't care if it's legal or not or if you pile up research and tests to support your use or if your medical condition is so obvious that a blind man could see. So much for the Hippocratic oath! I'd sure like to know how it is legal for a doctor to refuse treatment if a patient takes a legal substance. My insurance company forced a family doc to treat me, but what use is a POed doc and referrals to specialists that drug test and refuse care?

If you can establish a relationship with the doctors you need, do this before starting the MMJ. Maybe they will give less problems after...? Same with employment. Every person I have met who has a job (very few of these) is drug tested frequently. Card or not, patients lose jobs over this... even entry level jobs. It's messed up that employers and docs can reject folks here for a legal substance. Card holder still must hide their use and grows just like in any other state. At least you can fight back legally, but who has the finances for this? I think I'd be going after these doctors if I had the finances to drag it through court.

On a lighter note.... Another friend who is new here showed me her stack of applications to be a member of various Unitarian churches. She had to submit employment and financial info and would be rejected from joining these churches if the drank alcohol or smoked cigarettes. Even prescription drugs had to be listed! What kind of messed up state is this???! :hmmmm:

I don't know if I missd it in the thread but there are also Canopy laws. I'm not going to pretend that I know them I read them but always forget from county to county but, Local Medical Marijuana Guidelines has a ton of good info. anyone or everyone correct me if im wrong, and educate me but from the way I interpute the total number of plants you can have and stay legal in CA. is set by the Attorney General, and no county in CA. can restrict less then the state set 6 mature and 12 imature, and 8 Ouces of dried bud. the 6/12 law does not mean you can have 18 total. As I understand it you start 12 plants and take your 6 best and push them to maturity, I give the other 6 away or "donate" them, but aren't donations tax deductable. :) so I don't scare my accountant I give them away. i find that planting 2 plants a few weeks apart suplys me with as much MMJ as I need.
(at least until I started Vapeing) I love everything over my 8 OZs because the look, the smile, and to see how thankful a person is to get free MJ is priceless. anyway 99 plants keeps you under the Feds radar from what I understand they don't get funding for raids under 100 plants, and LEO can't legally report you to the Feds if your within CA. guidelines or the guidelines set by your county. CA. counties are having enough problems with there budgets and the state for that matter. A man was arrested in my Central CA. town where I live. all of his Equipment was taken including plants, and he got his day in court. to make a long story short he was acting in full regs of CA. laws and was givin back all that was taken from him, including his now dead plants. So now a court awards him money in the sum of 25k for expensise lost from his dead plants... YOU KNOW tax payers are pissed and so is the local Goverment for loseing that 25k to punk ass cops not following Ca. state laws. come on the guy was legal. I read all this in a local paper, but would'nt you know in this small world we live in my very first legal delivery of my Meds was delivered by this very man I had read about. and let me just say what a upstanding man he was.
