No, actually I have about 4 more feet of space to use now so I am hoping these lights are the best fit ......... Say for maybe two plants both in 3 gallons pots ?

That thing would only work for seedlings or making clones, perhaps vegging small plants. Its a really cool clone or seedling starter for the price. But it will not grow actual plants.

It has only 1 t5 bulb

if you wanna grow actual buds in a space about 4 feet long and 2-3 feet wide. You would need a 4-6 bulb t5ho fixture.

+1 on what Jimmy said. You need at least 150-200 watts of fluorescents to grow 2-3 plants. For what you want to do, you should either get a "full spectrum" 200 watt cfl set up which would probably cost you 50-75 bucks, Make two or three 4 bulb 23 watt cfl fixtures (~40 bucks), or get a small self ballasted HPS set up. Or, as Jimmy said, you could get a 4 bulb high output T5 fixure .

so this is what I have decided on to grow one plant with, I am going to try one plant, see how it goes, and then move on from there. Is this a good choice or should I set up a cfl grow light?

Thats fine for flower, but you really want a switchable ballast that can use HPS bulbs as well as metal halid.

150 watt hps will hopefully not heat your room TOO much. we shall see.

the grow space is actually connected to a full size bedroom so ventilation should not be a problem

I am thinking about using CFL's also but I am not sure what set up to use. Meaning only CFL's with a reflective hood.
