Everything is looking good and sounds good. I see in the picture that your soil does not have perlite in it. Perlite is the little white pellets you see in potting soil. This helps with drainage and aeration of the soil. Also helps keep the soil from compacting over time and preventing the roots from stretching. Perlite or vermiculite will work and are cheap and can be found at most supermarkets and garden shops. Hope this helps and good luck!!!

Thanks for the feedback! I am squeezing the pot to allow soil to loosen up accsionaly after water and I will look into the pellets!

Be sure the container has adequate drainage to protect you from over watering. One can always water from the bottom and let it uptake what it needs. A good draining medium also allows adequate oxygen to reach the roots. It pulls in oxygen as it drains through the medium. If you listen carefully you can here it.
