PAR Meter

Is a PAR Meter an appropriate device for determining ideal distances between lights and canopies?
Most newcomers believe there's is an optimal and set standards they could follow and use to optimize their light intensity. There's to many variables to only go by numbers. PAR/ppfd meters should be used to repeat an environment on a already dialed in strain.

The best thing is to learn how to read the plant. To much light will only stress the plants out. I've seen people on here pump 1000w+ of LED's in a 5x5 tent and their results looks more like they've only used 3-400w of LED's in terms of yield.

As much light as possible without any signs of stress is what you should aim for while trying to stay within environmental optimals like temperature and humidity. People call it VPD(vapor pressure deficit) nowadays and there's charts you could follow online that helps out in the beginning.

Cheers!

Chart that I saved earlier. And all plants react differently.
