Is it safe to adjust PH using sulfuric acid?

No & i'm sure that will kill your plants !

Some of the most common PH up / down acids would be nitric & phosphoric they are some others but can not remember them at present, i'd suggest visiting your local hydroponic store to get some proper stuff.

Baking Soda and vinager.

No need for the baking soda, I tested my water and it had a PH of 8

Actually I've read of a few growers that use sulphuric acid and think it works just fine.
Not the stuff out of a battery obviously, as that would contain lead and maybe other toxins. I do not know if sulphuric acid is inherently poisonous once you dilute it to a level that's not corrosive. I used vinegar for years.

If you think about it volcanoes produce it naturally(Sulfur dioxide + water= sulfuric acid) we know how good volcanic soils are. There's that unfortunate danger of pyroclastic flows.

Does the ph go up or down straight away with the lemon/vinegar and the baking soda?
