thanks roorman. it porlly is on your post. i was jsut too lazy to go check thansk everyone for your input.im going with the pulsar.lol i am intrested though racefan, how much did you pay for those car dealership lights? and do they need any ballasts?

A guy on ebay just bought three - 600w hps bay lights (they are about 2 1/2 feet tall top to bottom) with the reflectors for 80 bucks. They can easily be converted to remote ballast when taken apart. Only downside was you had to go get them, they weighed 65 lbs each.

how long does your mini 250 take to heat up? i just got mine in today and it has been allready 10mins without any light

no warm up at all, plug it in and the light starts somewhat dim and then brightens to full brightness in like 10 seconds. something may be wrong, check your conections and settings, try agian.

i guess it helps when the bulb is completely tightened all the way. lol, i know why the bulb didn't come on now.

I would do the same thing, and be searching the net for hours to find the solution... Then someone would say "Screw it in" and I would pretend I had to buy a new ballast or somthing... LOL

I found this site cuz I was checkin' out the 400W Pulsar Mini and it seemed perfect for my needs; have about a 5'x4'x6' closet and am a first time (serious) grower. After reading all your input I'm going to buy one Thx all!
