Renaissance Man Tryin' It Again - OG Kush, Sour Diesel, Bruce Banner

Here we go y'all.. Another journal, changes from the last... excited for the next journey.

I have three different strains going, again. Actually, four. Stay tuned.

First on the list is Sour Diesel. I do not know the breeders of these seeds, but everything I am reading about the strain says about 70 days of flower. This will be my first Sativa-dominated plant I have grown and interested to see any difference in grow patterns.

Next up, Bruce Banner. Again, I don't know if it is #1, #2, #3 or any other version but it appears this also has about a 63 day flower period.

Third on the list is OG Kush. Flowering time looks like 8-9 weeks and might finish the soonest of them all.

Lastly I have a clone from the Critical Cure CBD from Barney's Farm. This clone came from the mother who just did not produce trichomes but I don't think it was the genetic, more of the environment. Either way, trying it out...

Lighting: Last grow I had 3 lights. I think it was too much. I may add the other one or two late in flower, but the combination of the three put out so much heat, it was very hard to manage. This time, I'm sticking with the XS-2000 only in a 2x4' tent.

Four plants will be a lot and not even sure how I am going to manage the logistics of that yet. Definitely not going with the SCROG technique, back to a little LST. As far as nutrients goes, bringing back what I used in my first grow.

I'm in soil, Happy Frog, Ocean Forest and Perlite. Starting in solo cups then probably to a 3gal then to the 5/7gallon. I'll be pH-ing the water to 6.5 throughout so here we go...

Germinated the seeds recently and will be calling out Day 1 in about a week.

My one challenge I anticipate in a couple of months is I will be out of town for a week in Hawaii. Hopefully, I can recruit some help from my neighbors.

Come along, offer your input. I'm new still and after the failed last grow, my confidence has been shaken. But I feel good right now and ready to take it on.

RM, good luck with this grow, as far as your confidence being shaken, look at it this way, you now know what you did wrong the 1st time, learning from our mistakes.
Nice you have neighbors you can trust to keep an eye on your crop while your out of town.

So there is a little update.

OG Kush starting to grow nicely. I think I'll wait another week before I introduce nutes to her.

Sour Diesel has been "stuck" at this stage for a few days now. I'm hoping she is waiting to take off.. not sure.

Critical Cure monstercrop is now showing new growth on top, so that one is off to the races as well.

Lastly, Bruce Banner is not doing so great. I peeked inside the soil slightly and see a root growing but I'm hesitant about messing with it as I do not want to contaminate or stunt whatever growth it still might have.. I was really looking forward to the Bruce Banner but if I can get the other three going, that should be enough for this grow.

Today I'm starting to see some progress on some and regress on another. OG Kush doing well, starting to grow and catch some light. Contemplating adding nutes to her soon.

Sour Diesel was struggling, but I'm seeing the beginning of new growth, albeit, it does not look healthy. Seems to early for nutes for her, but looks like she needs it?

Critical Cure starting to re-veg and I like what I see. I'm hoping I can get a good grow from her, considering the last went all the way to flower and failed.

Bruce Banner not going to make it. I may replace her (him?) with a new seed soon.

Good morning. New update:

I uppotted OG Kush into a 3g pot and gave it a good water with 3g of nutes/gal, along with 3.5ml of CalMag because it appears I have a Calcium deficiency, but I may be wrong. If it looks like something else, please chime in. Also watered with 6.4pH.

The Critical Cure monstercrop is starting to take root and uppotted that into a 1g. It looks like I have a bit of nutrient burn but I am not too concerned with that.

I popped two more seeds of Bruce Banner (left) and Sour Diesel (right) because the last two seeds failed me. Those are being watered with straight tap water only.

I am terrible at keeping this updated but here it goes:

The OG Kush is doing fantastic. I had topped once, then again on the next two shoots and then once more on the next highest shoots. That will be all the topping for this plant. She is about 5 weeks old and probably will veg for 3 more weeks.

The Sour Diesel is about a week behind Bruce Banner who is about 2 weeks behind OG KUsh. These also will be vegging for 3 more weeks.

The Critical Cure monstercrop is doing great and I decided to do some more LST because it looked like an afro getting out of control. I have some sort of training in mind but we'll see how it goes.

They are in 3gal pots right now and I will transplant into 5g and a 7gal cloth pot in a week or so. All are taking CalMag and nutrients are at 2.8g/gal which I will increase next feeding. Water is pH'd at approx 6.5. Lights are on 18/6 with off period from noon to 6pm. Temps with lights on is high 80's-low 90's. Rh is hovering around 40%.

Went on vacation and came back to an almost dead OG kush.. Trying to bring it back. The other 3 doing well. Going to veg for a couple more weeks. At least until OG can recover a bit and maybe I can squeeze out a 1/4 oz.
Feeding them all 4g/Gal of MC, 3.5ml of calmag and pH of ~6.5

Thanks! So far she's starting to recover slowly but definitely will be a stretch to the finish for her. I am going to increase veg for all for another week or so just for that one to catch up a little more.

Here is another update. I flipped to 12/12 a few days ago and all are looking good. OG Kush on the right has recovered nicely. The others look healthy. Still feeding about 3.5g/gal of MC and 3 ml of CalMag.

I'm calling yesterday Day 1 for flower. The OG Kush on the right and the Sour Diesel in the middle front both started flowering. It appears Bruce Banner on the left and Critical Cure CBD back middle are still a couple days behind. Also added the P1000 and moved the xs2000 over to the left and getting PPFD readings from 600 on the right at 18", 1200 on the left at about 10" and the middle canopy is getting about 1300 at about 18"

Starting week 2 this week and everything looking really good. The top cola of the OG Kush on the right was touching the light this morning so I had to do a supercrop.. Never tried that on a flowering cola before.

The Bruce Banner on the left was showing a little bit of lighter leaves on top so I turned the lights down about 15% on both lights.

The Critical Cure CBD monstercrop in the back middle is getting the least light but still looks good.

I'll probably let these grow another week before I do a good defoliation on them. Or not... i don't know.

Last feed was pH water only. I'm trying to see if I can limit the MC a little instead of every watering. I also got a couple handfuls of earthworms from my yard outside and threw them in my pots.

Lastly, is a little clone of OG Kush that is starting to look up after a week. It's in my outdoor potting soil which is pretty dense, but it's doing ok.

Day 21 of Flower heading into week 4. Noticing some issues I need to deal with. The OG Kush on the right seems to have a potassium deficiency with some of the yellow tips. Buds still look a little thin compared to the others.

The critical Cure CBD seems to have too much Nitrogen. Not sure how to balance it all..

Any suggestions welcome.

Man, this grow is getting difficult and I'm running into all kinds of issues. Important to note: I switched nutes from a synthetic nute to organic top dressing. Did that about 2 weeks ago. Probably the wrong time but live and learn.

First off, OG Kush. Remember the one that almost died when I got back from vacation? She never really recovered. She has some really large calyx's that concern me. On the bottom of the plant, it looks like overwatering, and the top of the plant looks like heat stress and N deficiency. I raised the lights and added nutes last watering. Trichomes are appearing and smells good. Buds are a little airy but starting to fill in.

Sour Diesel in the middle is the best doing. Buds are dense. All looks good with early trichome production. Starting to smell nice.

Bruce Banner was doing so great and when I changed nutes a couple of weeks ago, I started running into issues. It looks like strong over-watering along with excess N. Buds are fairly dense, but very little to no trichome production. This is in a 7 gal cloth pot, not the 5gal as the previous two are in. So definitely overwatered. Trying to dry out for the last 2 weeks. I let it dry a little uncomfortable, but probably not uncomfortable enough. I'll try again next watering. I will probably water with my sprayer and just try to water the outside top quarter of the pot. No smell yet

Critical Cure CBD had the same problem as Bruce. This is in a plastic pot and after I started noticing the problem of the excess N and overwatering signs, I realized that I had it propped up because it is a short plant but it was not raised and so water was not getting out. I fixed that problem and it is starting to recover except for that middle bud.. I had to clip those leaves, they were bothering me. Dense buds but I can't get a view beneath the top so not sure how long the buds are. Little smell, little trichome production.

I think I'm going to make it all the way to the end, just not sure what to expect for results.

OG Kush seems to be underfed and Bruce Banner seems to be overfed. Critical Cure ran into problems. Sour Diesel looks the best.

Well harvest came and went. Yield was good but not sure about quality yet. All jarred up after 10 days drying at 55-60%rh and 68°F.
Next grow begins in 2 weeks.. New seeds new strains
