A rude comment to a police officer caused a Louisville man to end up in jail.

According to an arrest citation, the arresting officer was at the Hall of Justice dropping off paperwork from another case, when 21-year-old Tre Mangrum made a comment about the officer having a big nose.

Police said when the officer got closer to Mangrum, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana.

According to police, Mangrum was asked if he had any marijuana on him, and he admitted that he did. Mangrum then handed over the drugs and was taken into custody, police said.

Police said Mangrum was searched and a bag with two pills, later determined to be Lortab, was found.

According to the arrest citation, Mangrum said he had a prescription for the pills, but it was not with him.

Mangrum was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and having a prescription-controlled substance not in a proper container.
