Smelly already

Sup fellas. I'm going at my second grow as I'm new to this. I'm only a month and some days in and i had to give a plant support. The stem smells of weed. This morning when I went to check on them, the smell greeted me. My first grow didn't smell why? Strand?

Different strains different stench levels. If stench is a concern you may need to use a tent with a filter.

Probably need better lights. They look healthy but tall and skinny. That can be genetics but those look stretched.

Stretching is reaching for a light to far away or not strong enough.

Looks like some CFL, how many watts, real watts not rated equivalent?

I have 2 grow lights as well. Should I add the grow lights to the mix?

I'd use the grow lights instead. Those are 23w x 4 or 92w for 4, they are omnidirectional so the plants might be getting 33w.

A good option is quality LED lights. Mars Hydro makes decent budget lights. Budget LED makes high quality.

To answer the first question, even though it has been done, it comes down to genetics. Some strains become fragrant earlier than others. I had one recently that about 3 weeks in started smelling of key lime. It was awesome, but the profile changed in flower. Damn, that would have been awesome too. lol

Your second question was also well handled. They need more light. A shitload more.

No, they're not even close really.

They might keep a plant alive, but just barely. I mean, in a micro grow, like a space bucket, maybe. But not anything even halfway serious.


What size of tent/room/space are you using? How many plants total? Photos? Autos? What grow medium? What nutrients?

Same answer as Monday. 2 days didn't make those things any better.

You're going to do nothing but waste money and time trying that.


I'm not sure the size of your closet, but you're going to need better lighting. CFL's and whatever that is aren't going to cut it in that setup.
