Time to chop or not?

Hello Gents and Ladies I have another girl to show first time growing indoors a Lemon Pineapple by 710 Genetics sativa dominant she’s just under 5 weeks in flower and her nugs are so solid and smelling like OMG! again I think she still got around 3 weeks to go, she’s under Mars-hydro fc-e6500 led, tricomes are clear.

Do Sativa tricomes turn amber?

Should I start flushing for two weeks to wash out any salts then harvest or shall I wait for another week or two to start flushing? Any recommendations much appreciated….. thanks again

First, the plants look very nice. Unless you’ having nute issues there’s really no reason to flush. To evaluate your buds you need to get a jeweles loop to examine the trichomes. In my experience Sativa’s will go amber, though it seems to take longer than Indicas.

Thanks for your info bro, yup I have a jewelers loop I’ll keep a eye on trichomes on my sativas I am aiming for 50/50 cloudy/amber for all plants then I’ll chop

Do you turn lights out for 48hrs before chop? or any tips on what you do before chop?

I do give them 48 hrs. of dark, I’m not sure it does a lot of good in the grand scheme of things, but there is some evidence to indicate that you get the max terpines after a dark period. I do it mostly to get the plant to use up excess carbs and sugars, which add harshness to the final product. Starving a plant by withholding nutes in its final push seems quite counterproductive. Others may have a different view.

You have at least a week.
Your pistols haven't finished turning red and crinkleing in yet.
She is still flowering and building.
Give her a week at least, then check tric's.
