Trunk rot

One of my seedlings got trunk rot somehow even though they have good drainage , would putting clonex on the good upper stem above the damaged part and burying it deeper when replanting make it grow new healthy roots to give it more support?

I doubt it,but you may as well try it-nothing to lose at this point...

It might be better to just start a fresh one,if you've got the seeds.
