and the silicone will not stick to the plastic tubs...

what should i use for a water proof seal?

will just a bathroom waterproof adhesive caulk work? or is that toxic? thanks :thanks:

A tip I would use is try to lightly score the plastic so it sticks. If not, those other silicone caulks should work as long as its COMPLETELY dry and doesn't have ANY odor. Then its safe. As long as the caulk doesn't release anything into the water. Make sure it can also stand a little bit of acidity too, ask people about that, im not sure about that. Since hydro runs around 5.4 pH or so. Hope this helped!

I saw this from another thread, sorry not to quote, but, you can use any caulks that is aquarium safe. Scoring the plastic isn't a bad idea either. Aquarium safe stuff remains inert whether in acid or what not so its good.
