Quick question, I just got a new mars 2 and I'm a little confused on light height. Some say higher the better.... Lower the better? Anyone have any input?
I kinda posted without any info. I'm flowering but at max height I can only get it a foot away.......Well - i'd say higher. Too close and plants won't grow at all. The best advice i can give you is to try out in your setup what works for you. I started out with recommend height and it didn't work for me at all. I had to raise it 32-34" to get any growth (seedlings, veg)

I'm flowering and they have reached max height but the farthest from the highest top I can get it is about 1ft away.

hahahaha. Nice one. Well if it would hurt more then help I would replace it with a cfl. I'm using a 400 watt hps and the led covers maybe a 1.5x1.5 feet spot where the hps doesn't hit very wellOn the bright side, you no longer have to decide how high to hang the light...
it's a 5 wattYou may want to post pictures. You shouldn't be burning your plants with 3 watt LEDs at 20". It may be a nutrient problem.
i have seen people complain of fluffy bud because they had the light to close. So your saying 20 inches is not to closeThe prior statement still stands. Most times it is not light burn but either heat or nutrients.
ah thank you for the information. I seen your post about lighting and learned a lot more about led lighting. Thanks! If the heat at the canopy is high, it will cause fluffy buds. Just ensure that you have good temps and proper air flow and there shouldn't be an issue.
Clean setup, healthy plants. Nice job.
