Watts

For lighting?

First Multiply your growroom length by its width.

Ex. 4ft long by 3 ft wide would give you 12 sq ft. Multiply that times your desired wattage per sq ft.

(people will recommend anywhere from 30 to 50 watts per sq ft, depending on the method of growing.)

So then lets say you decide to go with 40 w per sq ft. Multiply that 40 w by your 12 ft of growroom area = 480.

So you will want a light that has that wattage or greater. So a 600w mh/hps would do for a 4 x 3 growroom.

I kno this is an old post... but thought I'd ask anyways. the equation n answer for the watts per square room were referenced with mh/hps lights. does this answer hold true for cfl's wattage also?
