Weird rot killed my plant

Hi, everyone

This is a first for me, one of my plants started to droop in a similar way that when they don't get water, all the leaves started to get kinda soft and drop and the bottom leaves and branches started to dry. All of this happened in 48 hours.
I couldn't save it so I cut it off (it was 3 weeks into flower) and this is a picture of the stalk after cutting it.

So obviously some sort of infection or disease got in there.

All the environmental parameters are good. Temp and RH are good, water temp is good, there's plenty of air moving around, good exhaust, air intake could be a little better but it works.
I don't have bug issues either, there were four plants using the same recirculating water system so hopefully whatever this was is not contagious.

I had two plants (different strains) in the same pot and only the one had this problem. The other one is still growing great and the buds are also growing very fast and dense and good.

Roots are good also, they weren't rot and they were getting their regular supply of water.

Has anyone encountered something like this before or know what this is?

Thanks in advance for any input.
