Hey

Hello and :welcome: to :420:

Any more details?

Medium? Indoor or outdoor grow? Nutes??

Cant leave an audience starvin' for details!!

Maybe start up a grow journal? Great way to share and get any needed help! :Rasta:

Potting mix to start, mixing soil into that for growing out and after taking clones will move outside, next week. Nutes are store bought, we have a farm so we have horse, sheep and chicken manure. Soil is silty/clay but rather fertile. No internet at house, so only posting when in town.

Working with silt/clay soil can be tough at times. But, it is a good soil for growing.

The plants growing outside will take until sometime in August before the length of darkness is long enough to get them to show male or female flowers. Both plants look like the nodes are across from each other. When the nodes start to alternate then it is getting sexually mature and ready to show whether male or female under the right light & dark conditions.

Once you get a couple of successful clones you can check for female or male. Just take one clone from each plant and put it into a 12 hours of a dark cycle and wait for it to flower. Keep track, mark each clone so you know which mother it came from and get rid of any male clones and the mother if need be.

Welcome to 420 @Mbunaaddict
You've got some nice looking healthy plants.

Background: Grown a few times, all outside and to maturity. Nothing big, just a cpl plants. Had good crop 3 years ago of GDP ( supposed, guy who gave them knew that his guy got medical MJ from CO and trusted him). Cloned many GDP youths and put them outside with two known girls. One of those clones was male and seeded everything, not much, but saved some and gave close buddy a shitload. He grew them along with two Tree of Life girls. He's a noob, something seeded, and those seeds are what im starting with.
. Silty/clay soil, depth of 9 inches before hitting pebbles. Lots of berry bushes which i understand as a sign of adequate water. I have a seasonal creek 15 feet from grow site, will dry up late summer and am filling two rain barrels on-site for when its needed. Deer are prolific, and my back property(where growing happens) is out of sight of neighbors. Looking for 5lbs this seaon from 15 plants. My GF has her medical card, and though $10/gm is quite reasonable, it's just a no brainer to grow her some. Plus, the dispensary we use is very inconsistent with strains and THC/CBD content.Looking to make oils, learn to make wax and other cool stuff.

Started the seeds out in potting mix on April 5th, fed diluted 10-30-10 blue stuff, transplant to 2liter bottles cut to 2/3 size and filled with 2 parts same potting mix plus 1 part our own silty/clay soil. Sexed them on May 5th for 10 days(is that quick or normal time?), got 11 girls, and now they get 24-8-16 fert and sheep/chicken compost tea here and there with just water between feedings. They dry out every 4 days, not completely dry, but to the point I feel comfortable with. No problems yet, all are evenly green and looking healthy. Grabbing clones once they grow a bit and planning to put the donor Moms outside, in semi-improved soil. Put them all into 1 to 3 gal pots filled with 4parts stuff i dug out from animal's pen and 1 part potting mix.
Clones will go in the ground with their moms when they look strong enough with a few staying in our vegetable garden to act as indicators for the others, which will be a few acres away in our 20 acre hollow. Maybe try a single SCROG inside, dunno.
Have read TOASTs 2016 journal(all about them bags!!!) and Weasels SCROG( trying this )from 2015. Great vibe here, great growers info and unexpectedly relaxed.
Im somewhere in the central East Coast mountains, zone 6 to 6.5 around Latitude 40(between DC and Pittsburg). Soil is officially loamy cobble. I call it fixable, lol.

Questions:
1. If I pollinate the flowers still showing from sexing, and continue veg growth, would seeds form? Or would it trick the plant into freaking out from a paradox?

2. Whats a good deer repellent, cant afford an 8foot fence.

3. Most trusted seed Co.?

Cloning for this time around.....

Love the bag way, makes sense to me. Im doing a cpl different variations on it...
Dont laugh, but i tried one clone in a DIY rockwool cube: i balled up some fiberglass insulation and stuck it in a mini Solo cup with no rooting hormone and dilute 10-30-10. Also took 7 more which got RootTone, and went with the aloe vera treatment per Sue. These went into a 50/50 mix of coir(found a bag of it buried while digging out the pens!!!) and generic potting mix. Some in mini cups, some in a seed flat thingy, 3 mini-cups in one bag and 4 seedflat clones in another. Limited on space for the bags that is the right temp for them. Our lows arr are still in the 50s and upper 40s, and we dont have central heat, so for now those three bags are in the grow box(2' x 5' and 2' high, custom built aquarium stand not in use).
Will take more clones, maybe buy some starter cubes or peat pots. Would rather find my zen with soil cloning since its available, probably take longer, i assume. Anyone have experiences with cloning in soil?!
Thats all for now, ive been typing this at home and captioning the pics, hope this uploads OK while we're in town.
